Great product. Recommend to a friend
I love this steroe. Fit like a champ and the HU has all the great features I was looking for. To add Bluetooth to an older car was great. DVD is nice too. Works great with the override :). Easy to use touch screen and great sound in my Versa! Just make sure you connect the auto reverse cable to the rear backup light if hooking up a camera.

VX-404
While the sound is excellent the navigation of menu's is very clunky. Particularly with usb devices. Navigating the folders on usb can only be done using the touch screen, the remote does nothing. The organization of folders is not all alphabetical in fact I am not sure of what arrangement scheme is used, ridiculous trying to find a folder. There is a search function which only will search for a track number in the current folder selected, problem is the tracks are listed arbitrarily by number not by real position in the album, again not useful. When backing out of a folder the position on the device is lost and one must start searching from the top of the folder again. Please Clarion rework the navigation of these folders and include the remote as a useable part in this process. Also make the search function able to search entire device by track name or keyword. The now playing display for usb devices is not implemented well either. Once a track is selected it should be the only thing visible with album art. A button on the side to toggle the navigation feature would be nice. In other words auto-hide the track listing unless in active navigation of tracks. As well the color of the background on screen in the track listing doesn't seem to change according to the background color selected. Also the ability to turn off live tiles in the source selection page would be beneficial. This head unit plays 24/192 flac files without a hiccup and sounds really well in doing so. The navigation of these files is atrocious. Please fix this Clarion. If fixed I will give this more stars as of now it is annoying.Update 10/27/2014Per the manual this thing can recognize 65535 files. Trying to find a specific file in any number of files with this head unit is a very frustrating experience. Absolutely no organization! On to my frustration with the now playing window of the usb/sd device. I would like to see the usb/sd display reworked to be similar in layout to the bluetooth audio now-playing display. The bluetooth display has nice big buttons that are easy to push while driving and the display is much easier to read (I am colorblind). The usb/sd playback buttons are way too small to safely press when driving. Still am impressed with sound quality though.

Good head unit if you want FLAC
This unit is quite a step up from my old double DIN unit (JVC KW-XR610).Pros:- Easy to use interface with many, many built in features (AUX, USB, microSD, HDMI, Camera, Dual Zone output). Most of these features are in other models that are far more expensive.- A big selling point for me was the 24/192 support for FLAC. My entire music library is FLAC based, and it's great to not only have FLAC support, which is rare in head units, but also have support for 24 bit 192 KHz (of which I have a few vinyl rips).- Sound features are adequate, you get a 3 band support with other Bass boost options and high and low pass crossovers, subwoofer control, etc.- Bluetooth features (audio, phonebook, etc) all work perfectly with my phone (LG G2)- Another big seller for me was the HDMI port, which lets me run output of my phone onto the display using SlimPort. I use it to mirror Waze and Google Maps onto the display. While I can't use the screen to change the settings on the phone, it's better than the cost for a head unit that supports Smart Access or Mirrorlink.Cons:- The USB/microSD card support is a bit klunky, as it only reads the files off the cards in the FAT arrangement (with the files in the order as added to the card). Thankfully, I found a workaround file sorter app that puts the files and folders in alpabetical and numerical order for them to read properly in order on the head unit.- 2V preamp outputs are a bit weak. Other units in this range are coming with 4V/5V outputs.- You cannot seem to be able to remove unused options on the main screen (unless I don't know how, someone else help me here if so). I don't have an iPhone so I don't want to see the iPhone only features, and I don't have a backup camera currently, so don't need that either.- Unit is really recessed compared to my old unit, so it sits deep in the dask kit. I have a Subaru and there's a different bezel that makes the cutout the right size for double DIN so I'll have to purchase that bezel (the US head units are about 1" wider than the standard double DIN size).- No HD Radio support. Not a big deal for me as there a few stations in my area, and I can stream Internet radio off the cell phone.Overall, I like this head unit. Again, the big selling points were FLAC support and HDMI for cell phone mirroring. There were other great units in the price range at the time (DDX491HD, AVH-X3600BHS), but the FLAC sealed it for me.
