The original battery swelled and "popped" the housing, so I thought we've lost the speaker. But I found out that you can replace the battery, so we bought this one (higher capacity than the original one).It fits in the receptacle perfectly, and now the speaker is up and running again.With batteries, you never know how well they will age, but so far, so good! Happy with the purchase.

I recommend watching a video on how to replace the battery and not just going for it. I was able to replace the battery in my speaker and this worked great. Definitely works as advertised.

After 5 years and countless trips to the beach, the battery in my JBL Charge 3 had just about met its match. After hours of charging, it would only last less than 30 mins. Decided to do a little investigating before buying a new one, and low and behold, you could buy a replacement battery, and thought it was worth the risk. It certainly was. Found a couple good how-to videos on You Tube, got a great deal on Amazon for a replacement battery, and today my speaker is back in the game, stronger and full of life more than ever.

Replaced the battery before it beach trip and it has worked great! Got 12 hours at moderate volume on the beach without a recharge. Highly recommend!!!

It plugged right in and fit great. It’s nice to have my speaker working again. No more looking for an outlet to plug into just to play music.
