Excellent book. The organization of Kanji into coherent functional and semantic groups is well thought out. Tactile-kinesthetic learners will find that writing Kanji is a fun learning experience and it works. Lots of pictures to help visual learners. Audio files online for auditory learners too.

Japanese Kanji Made Easy; is exactly as the title states. I am 80 years old, have a Japanese wife of 55 years, lived and worked in various parts of Japan for more than ten years. Even with all these aids to learning Japanese, I still only had a marginal level of fluency! My ability to write ANY Japanese was nil. Over the years I have tried many Japanese courses, but to no avail. It just didn't stick. But then came "Japanese Kanji Made Easy". I found that the book was different than other workbooks. Clear explanations with pictures to help remember each character, excellent review and practice quizzes with audio to help on pronunciation, all in all a very balanced approach to learning. At last, it is starting to stick, while having fun! Art V.

I loved the ability to look up different social interactions, pictures, and writings to accompany them. Often, one can pick up a "word or sentence structure" in one area and transpose it to another area with a little adjustment. Being new to the language this helps a lot.

I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this book but hoped it would help me to learn and understand kanji. It had me hooked by the time I learned my first 30 kanji. I’m glad I ordered both n5 and n4 books. I’m looking forward to practicing every day. I recommend it for self learners like me.

This is a really great book. I'm (very) slowly working on my japanese, I was able to use this book to set my own pace to learn just 1-2 Kanji per day but you could easily use it to move at a faster pace if you are in school or are more eager to learn quickly. The instructions are great, the quality of the book is great, the reviews are great. This has helped me tremendously.

I studied Japanese many years ago in college but over the years I forgot much of what I learned and I had not learned a lot of Kanji in the first place. This book offers step by step stroke order and pictures that can be traced to train the hand and mind. This is a very effective way to learn the basic Japanese Kanji (Chines characters). I highly recommend this book.
