This is a great chair for watching tv and sleeping in
Once upon a time I had a futon in my room for sleeping on and for watching tv. Over time it (made up out of cheap thin coat hanger type wire in places where you need sturdy support) fell apart. By August of 2022 I needed a replacement. I don't have much room to spare in here, and I decided that the most comfortable and best option for me would be a chair like this one. Most beds and futons are too big to fit the available space. So I decided on a swivel recliner like this one.It took me a while to find the right chair, because by the time I had paid off my credit card bill - many similar products had sold out and the only ones left were an ugly shade of brown and made of faux leather. Now on to THIS product. My first concern was how were we going to get it in the house and into my room and how much would it weigh. My second concern was, it is REALLY as easy to assemble as everyone in these reviews says it is?The packages (2 of them) were shipped with CanPar. The delivery man rang the bell and I asked if he could help me get them into my room. In fact I offered him $20 to help. He turned the money down but did help. He suggested laying down towels on the kitchen floor, and he lifted each box onto one for me.Once on the towels the boxes could be easily dragged to my bedroom.I opened the first box in the hallway. It contained the right arm, the left arm, and the back of the chair. It was also the lighter of the 2 boxes. I put those items in my room leaning up against a wall.Next was the box which had the base of the chair and the remote for the massager/heater, and the power cord etc...I removed the electronics stuff and the assembly instructions. Then I turned the box on it's side. You see, the beauty of this is that the base is in the box upside down. So I didn't have to do any heavy lifting at all. (I injured my back when I was 25 and doing heavy lifting at a job at a paper mill)Once the box was on it's side I slid it to where I was going to put the chair, then I gently turned the box right side up (which is upside down to how it was shipped - if you follow me on this) so that the base gently emptied out of the box and onto the floor. Right side up. Worked like a charm. There were some sheets of thin plastic covering the chair base. I removed about 4 sheets of those and I plan to use them as garbage bags. They are perfect for a trash can I bought recently. Now assembly. That was so easy I was amazed. I read the instructions. There are not many, but there don't need to be. It's the easiest thing I've ever assembled in my life. There were two foam protective things on the back of the base where the base fits on. I removed them, and the rest of the trash (big boxes) from the room.Everything just snaps together. There are slots on the sides of the base where the arms are gently slid in. The only "tricky" part was lining up the front and the back. For getting that right I just asked my dad to keep his eye on the front slot, while I focused on the back one. I did ALL of the assembly myself and this is a one person job for the most part. You don't need 2 people to assemble it. There is no heavy lifting. And I'm someone with a bad back who can't do heavy lifting. So trust me on this.Once lined up, the arm snapped in place. Swiveled the base around and then did the same with the other arm. Swiveled it again and did the back. Before pushing the back down completely I did the wiring. If you can wire up a stereo or vcr, dvd, blu-ray player etc... you will have no issues. Everything is colour coded, just like your vcr, or stereo speaker connections. Red male end goes in the red female end. White male end goes in the white female end. The power connector is black. Again, male end into the female end.I also had my dad help when I was doing this as there is a fabric flap at the back which hides the wiring. I had him hold that up out of my way as I did the wiring. The final bit of wiring was the remote control for the massager/heater. This item you needed a good look at cos it's like those old computer mouse and keyboards with the 5 or whatever pins. You need to line it up so the pins go in that certain way. No issues at all. Everything fits together perfect and beautiful. After that I made sure everything was pushed snuggly into place and the chair was ready to sit on.In all, it only took me 5 minutes to put together. And I kid you not. It REALLY IS that fast and easy to assemble. My big concern had been how I would get it into the room and would there be 4 feet of snow on the ground when it was delivered. It did take a few weeks to be delivered but that was not an issue. It arrived on time and the chair is as shown.A nice shade of dark grey. 2 cup holders. Heat & Massage. Pockets on each side and each arm for things like reading materials and remotes.I used the one on the left side for the remote for the heat/massage feature.I next had my dad sit in the chair to see how it felt. He was very impressed. I was as well.My mother needs a lift chair because of health issues, but she likes this one even better, so I expect at some point they will order one like this with the lift feature. The cup holder on the left side is close enough to my desk here that I can use it when I'm on the computer as well. The chair is sturdy and very comfortable.I'm only 5 foot 5 inches tall, so it is perfect for me. If I make sure I'm sitting properly (right back) my feet just almost touch the end of the foot rest.Reclined I can sleep on it and have done so about 4 times now.I have a tendency and long have, to nod off when I watch interesting tv shows. I used to suffer bad insomnia and I noticed that if I watch something interesting on tv I would fall asleep but never would do so if the show was boring.A sleep doctor/specialist I visited for help with my insomnia, confirmed that and told me that the reason was because the part of your brain which is stimulated when you watch or read something interesting is the same part of the brain which needs stimulating to induce sleep.I drink a lot of water. Good for your kidneys and flushing sugars out of your system. So I get up to go pee 2 or 3 times a night. So I tend to sleep/nap in 2-4 hour segments. That's the case in a bed, and was with the futon, and is the same case with this chair.Great for both watching tv in comfort, and for sleeping in.To lift the foot rest you have to sort of lean back a little for it to sort of unlock and allow you to use that parachute jump-cord type thing inside the right arm to lift/trigger the footrest to come up.And when coming from the reclining position you have to shift your weight forward for things to come down. Likewise for laying back. All very easy once you get the hang of it.The only problem I have is that I don't seem to have the strength in my legs to pop the footrest down when I want to get off the chair. I'm working on that though. But that's not the chair, it's me.The futon was okay for sleeping on and I could watch tv lying down, but it was never comfortable for sitting on. And over time the bottom wonked out cos of the cheap coat hanger type wire used as support. A friend with the same futon had the exact same issues with his. But this chair is awesome. I should have ordered one years ago. The cup holders are perfect for my Rocky Mountain Tumblers I drink my water from. I found that the pockets on the front were a bit tight for my remotes. I had concerns about using them because I didn't want the pressure of the elastic in them to push buttons on the remote while they were stored in them. I will likely use them in time. For now I just know if I did I would forget where I put the remotes and be tearing the house apart looking for them.Oh, and contrary to another reviewer's claim. The chair does not swivel wildly as you sit in it or sleep in it. It moves with your body as you do. The swivel feature is beautiful and you don't go zipping around. Chair moves gently as long as you do, and does not move if you are laying still in it.

Good for price
I ordered gray and it’s more of a rusty blue color, and the smell is terrible. It’s been out the box for two weeks now and hasn’t completely aired out, must’ve been sitting for a very long time.Other than that, the chair is great. It’s not a super intense massage, more of a vibrating sensation, but it’s soothing and expected from other reviews I read before making the purchase. I haven’t had any issues with the recline or putting the foot rest back.I purchased this chair with low expectations and a pinch of hope after reading reviews and I am not disappointed. Definitely worth purchasing for the price.

My husbands favorite chair swivel, rock and recline
What an amazing value for the money! This chair does it all. Swivel, rock and recline. It even has heat and massage. The price amazing! It came in four pieces. Just snap, plug and play!

Good chair; but with problems.
The chair does MOSTLY what it says on the tin: It's a chair, it reclines, it swivels. However the massage and heating parts are a solid miss, I would say.I can barely feel the vibration in the back and lumbar, and I can feel it heavily in the legs. The massage pads are somewhat uncomfortable if reclining in the chair on the foot rest, but if you spread your legs you can avoid them.I am pretty sure the heating element is defective. I left the chair with the heating element on for an hour but I didn't feel any radiant heat from the chair. My best guess is that they installed the massage and heating pad backwards in the backrest for my chair.'However, it's quite comfortable to sit in. I am writing this review sitting in the chair. Still better pricing than my local furniture store, and with better features, so I am happy with it.
