MagnusVT-200 Tripod System with 2-Way Pan Head

This is a pretty good lightweight video tripod for only $60. Considering the price, the quality of construction is very good. I've now used it heavily for a few days and everything is holding up nicely.The quick-release plate that the camera attaches to is made of plastic, but at least it's heavy plastic. The tripod works pretty smoothly, with little backlash. With a little practice, you can do smooth pan/tilts. The "fluid" action works well, actually.I down-rated it a star because of the way this tripod works with my Panasonic Lumix ZS100 camera -- if I mount that camera on this tripod's quick-release plate, the camera's focus ring presses against the cork surface of the quick-release plate. My fix was to mount a thin piece of rubber on two-thirds of the quick-release plate's cork surface, so that the focus ring was up just a bit higher and not touching the cork. Honestly, that's as much a flaw of the camera as it is with the tripod, but anytime I have to modify a product to make it work the way I want, it's worth knocking its rating down a star.Overall, I like this tripod. It's smooth and lightweight, easy to carry, and does smooth pans/tilts with a bit of practice. I recommend it.

You get what you pay for. If you need a cheap tripod for occasional use, this will work. Otherise, look elsewhere.

This is a great little tripod and it works great with my Canon HF G30 camcorder. All the pieces fit well together, it's sturdy and perfectly level. Such a nice improvement over the cheap tripod I had before. You get a lot for the price.

Very steady but still very light weighted. The quick release works very well for me, since I constantly needs to take the camera off the tripod.
