Hi Maria, The chirping noise you are describing happens when your diffuser has used up all the essential oil. Simply refill your diffuser with oil and the sound will disappear. Q: When turned on with a smart plug is the light on or off by default?

Dear Valued Customer, When using the smart plug the default for the light setting is on. This means if the light is turned off and you are using the smart plug to turn your diffuser off and then on again the light will be turned on. This may not be ideal if you are using your diffuser while you are sleeping. If this is the case, please send a message to Organic Aromas and we can deactivate the light feature for you.
