Perfect project for grandpa and grandson. Well made and easy to put together.
Looked everywhere to find something for a 6 year old and grandpa. They had a great time working on this. The cedar was perfect.

Fun way to promote bird watching with kids
This was a fun project to do with the grandchildren. They enjoyed building and painting it, and now we enjoy watching the many birds that visit it. It seems very sturdy and should last a long time.

Cute birdfeeder
I got it for outside my husband's window at the assisted living memory care facility. It's the perfect size. Made well. Easy to put together. He even helped me a bit in assembling it. So it can be good for dementia patients as well.

Fun for kids
Fun for my grandson to put together and paint. Three years later still hanging outdoors, not sure if the birds like it:)

A Bit Tricky
While I like it ok and it was what I wanted without spending more money, it was difficult to screw together. I am retired and did not have the strength in my hands to tighten the screws all the way. (I don’t own a power screwdriver!) It was also awkward trying to hold the pieces still while screwing together. This was advertised as a project for kids but they would likely need adult assistance. I did not use the paints but might stain it later.

Thick bars too big for little birds. Birds cannot see the feed inside
Since I live in a high-wind area, I wanted to replace my current 10-year old bird feeder with something sturdier (so that I won't worry about it flying away while I am sleeping). This bird feeder was more solid than most others I looked into. However, it has three problems. First, the screws were missing. I almost returned, but did not want to incur additional expense (for my time and the gas to drive to the return site and for everyone else involved). So, I found some screws in my tool box and assembled it. The bigger problems were in the design. The plastic screens holding bird feed are shaded with red and black patterns, making the bird feed completely invisible to birds. So, birds cannot discover the bird feeder unless you replace your current one with this new one in a short interval (I took time to investigate a good replacement for my old broken bird feeder and lost my customers during the one month period or so that my bird feeder was down). Second, this bird feeder has bars that are too thick. Birds need to grab on them while feeding, but they are too thick for the majority of my customers, little chickadees and finches. I will need to fix the old one. I might use some part of this new one to reinforce the old one.
