great quality and presentation
Love the quality and presentation of this product, and the color choice is excellent. I’ve been using acupressure mats before, but this one is very well done and elegant.

Helps with circulation
I'm impressed with this mat. I've definitely noticed improved circulation in my feet. I stand on the mat without socks a couple times a day while I work (at my computer from home). I've been using it for five minutes at a time, and when I first started using it my toes would have a purplish hue (on the underside) when I was done. After just a couple weeks of use, I've noticed that has mostly gone away. I knew I had cold feet, so I guess I wasn't shocked by this, but this is a fantastic improvement.I will say that the first time stepping on the mat without socks is pretty uncomfortable. (I actually started with socks on, but quickly moved to standing on it without socks.) I had to shift my weight quite a bit to stay on the mat for more than a couple minutes at first. I don't know that I'll ever get past that first jolt of discomfort when first stepping on to the mat, but five minutes goes by pretty easily now.I haven't laid on the mat much. I did do so a couple times (without a shirt), and that was not nearly as uncomfortable for me as standing on it. It also didn't do much for me, so I'm guessing I just didn't have as much of a need in those areas. In terms of quality...I love the quality of the instructional book. They did a really great job of introducing the mat, letting you know how long to use it for different body areas, and how to ease into the treatment. The rosettes also seem to be of very good quality. I might wish the black fabric itself were of higher quality, but I don't know that I believe it is in danger of tearing or falling apart. I just don't think it will look new for long. All in all - I definitely recommend this mat though!

Spikes are not too sharp
The spikes are not too sharp and I didn’t feel any pressure, it is too soft. I returned it and will look for another one more advanced.

A New Experience
Wow, I didn't know what to expect from this Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set for Neck Pain Relief and Back Pain Relief by Trendy Home Spa, but I am pleased. It has taken some adjusting to the points to get used to it, but I have gotten there!! I have to wear a thick gown to ease the pain of the points, but I find that they do seem to ease the tension in my back. I can't imagine ever lying on it without anything on, but I just celebrated my 74th birthday so I'm usually well covered anyway!I don't know just how much it has aided in ridding my body of pain, but I do know that it relaxes me. My main contention with it is the cost. I find it a bit high, but I guess you pay for what you get. It is well-made and seems to be made of high-quality materials. I am pleased with it and I do recommend it.

Sharp but feels so good!
This was my first time trying these types of mats and I was surprised to feel how sharp the spikes actually are. They can do some damage if used improperly so I would warn everyone to be careful. They’re not sharp enough to penetrate the skin if used correctly though so don’t be scared. There are so many ways to use this mat and pillow wedge all over the body. My favorite was standing on the mat. I used socks the first couple of times but I have worked my way up to using it barefoot and the spikes hit all the pressure points so good. My feet feel very relaxed after every use.I also like to lay on my back on the mar, first using a shirt and then bare skin. The spike leaves temporary dots all over the skin which go away almost immediately. I can’t explain how good this mat feels but it does something no other massaging tool can do and make my feel. I am very happy with this order and would recommend this to anyone who wants to release some muscle stress.

Well made; helpful for aches once you become accustomed to the sharp points; rather pricey
This is a nicely made acupuncture pad. It comes as two parts: the pad itself plus a half rounded "pillow" that is ideal for areas such as the neck or feet. Both are covered with plastic disks that have very sharp points to them. I found the points to be too sharp for comfort on bare skin, but better when I wore a thickish t-shirt. After a few sessions I became more comfortable with the points and was able to use it with a thin t-shirt. I don't, however, think I'll get used to it enough to use it on bare skin. The pressure points do make a difference in relaxing muscles and providing some measure of pain relief. I don't think I'll be tossing out my anti-inflammatory meds anytime soon, but this mat does provide enough results that I'll be using it long-term.The build quality is decent, and all the pointy attachments seem to be securely fastened to the mat and pillow. It comes with a drawstring carry sack. The sack is a bit too small -- you really have to roll the mat up tight to get it to fit and even doing that it's still rather fussy to get it to fit inside the carry sack.Even though it is a nice set, the price is rather high for what you get. One star down for value, but it is a worthwhile tool to have to combat a sore back (or other areas).
