Box arrived open and contents had been stuffed back inside but no damage. So construction, base which suits on the stove is steel with a non stick coating all round, the top hot plate is aluminum with a non stick coating just on the top surface. I washed it and oiled it and seasoned using bacon which I threw away, let it cool and washed again before first cook. Using an non contact thermometer I found the temperature would climb towards 280 deg C even with the portable stove at half output, this is the limit after which Teflon can start to damage, so I kept it below this and maintained a temperature of approx 200 deg C. This cooked the food very well and produced nice searing on meat, anymore heat can burn marinade and leave a bitter taste. Once cooled the pan cleaned easily ready for next use. I would recommend you use a non contact thermometer to get the hang of controlling temperature if you are new to this pan, the pictures of damage on some reviews look like heat damage. On my cassette stove the tatsujin slim 3, half power is the maximum I would ever use and needs to be turned down as food finishes cooking.

Fits nicely on the Iwatani stove I bought and can't wait to try it out for asian bbq and other things. Feels sturdy and looks easily cleaned.

It is inexpensive but works extremely well! My kids were so excited to be able to cook their own meat to eat! They taste very good when cooked on the table. Smoke is negligible, but it leaves a smell in the room for 2 days, which is better than the one that generates smokes. Next time, we will do yakiniku session in the conservatory. Anyway, this is highly recommended!!

The black film came off and isn’t suitable

Don't be immediately discouraged by negative reviews mentioning rust or damaged coatings. I have used this Iwatani grill plate for two days in a row now, and I am full of praise. It is a fantastic product, but you do need to know how to handle it properly. ​Crucial: Temperature Management & Water ​I use this grill plate in combination with the Iwatani Slim stove. Keep in mind that the Slim has a significantly stronger burner than, for example, the Iwatani Yakimaru 2. If you blindly turn the burner all the way up, the plate will simply get too hot, which can ruin the coating. ​The golden rule: Always make sure to fill the bottom tray with water. ​Temperature control: I actually used a thermometer to regulate the plate to exactly 210°C. As you can see from the control knob position, the gas valve definitely does not need to be on full blast to achieve this. With this setting, the meat grills perfectly and the plate stays in pristine condition. ​Cleaning is a breeze (Photos taken after 2 days of intensive use) ​The attached photos were taken after two days of intensive use and subsequent cleaning. Cleaning it was incredibly easy: just some warm water and a standard dish brushing was all it took to get it perfectly clean again. If you ensure the coating doesn't burn due to excessive heat, nothing sticks, and there is absolutely no need for harsh scrubbing. ​Conclusion: Highly recommended for a great grilling experience, as long as you manage the power of your burner with some sense!

Ive bought several kinds of kbbq grills and this is the one fam. It sits nicely and tug on the gas stoves, the oil and grease that falls into the holes doesnt stick hella bad or make a mess and its super super easy to clean. Literally just washes off compared to other grills where it crusts and you have scrub it off. This actually works very well and doesn't evaporate all the water below and make the cleaning easier. The grill top is also very very good. Its thin and light but surprisingly does not get burned or crusted easily. Super non stick, just be sure to add butter or something before you add your meats but this work too perfect i was amazed. The little grill change tool is also a fun thing to show your friends they all laugh and treat you like a gen/qpot employee. But I didnt ever use it because guess what, the grill never had to be changed, I swear LOL. Amazon reviewer advice: I know I may be boasting about this more than someone should but Im adulting and little things like this amaze me and make me happy hahaa just finally finding the perfect kbbq grill. But my review can be trusted because look at how improper my review is but how real Im trying to be. Just saying ;P But I'd highly recommend 100/10. Im about to return my other grill and buy another one of this so I can have 2 of these grills.
