Gets the job done
Not as high quality material as the Philips brand and price would suggest. Looks good once mounted though. The motion sensor works well, even from 7 or 8 metres away. Very easy to put up in place of our old and rusty floodlight and it's a slightly warmer white which is nice compared to our old white floodlight. Not as bright, thankfully, who actually wants a floodlight at their front doorstep. There's a little bit of light leakage out the back of the unit, which shouldnt be there, (which I would have known if I read other reviews first). My bad, but we'll done you for reading reviews! Go you!Amyway, its minor leakage and nobody would notice it unless they were proudly examining their handiwork after installing this light.I would get this again, it's modern looking and works well.

Good buy
The media could not be loaded. Bought this as a replacement for the light in the front of my house. I wasn’t aware this would only turn on when triggered by motion however, I am still happy with the purchase. It’s very bright and serves the purpose to a large extent. This was self installed ands was pretty straight forward considering all.Adjusting the duration the light is in for and the motion sensitivity is a bonus.

Difficult to install
UPDATE2 of 8 have failed in less than 3 years of minimal use. Cannot recommend. This is a PIR garden/outdoor wall light from Philips, usually known for half decent products. The outer grey frame is aluminium, and the diffuser is white plastic.Installation: C- The product is not easy to install, for "waterproofing" the holes in the plastic frame that mounts to the wall are not pre drilled, they are just grooves. The installation instructions are poor, and no mounting hardware is installed. For over £50 it would it be too hard to ask for a premade template and 4 screws and wall plugs? Best way to install is to make a template and drill the holes into the wall from that. The hole spacing neatly lines up with the mortar lines if you want to screw to the mortar rather than the bricks. This is fine for such a lightweight product. BE AWARE there is a small rubber o-ring around the PIR that will ping out when you disassemble the lamp first time, this stops the cover over the adjustment screws moving too easily and slightly waterproofs the PIR, do not lose this like I did. Once the holes are drilled feed your cables through the gland. The gland is meant for round wired like flex, but for most people with concealed cables these are likely to be flat, so not ideal. There is just enough room to feed in 2 flat cables for a ring or mid radial circuit, no earth terminal so just terminate and sleeve the earth in a choc block or Wago. There is no provision for surface mounted cables or conduit. Please note that the hole for the cable entry is not centered on the product, it is in the lower left hand side of the light when viewed from the front, offset from the center by approximately 3-4 cm. There is no real space behind the light to route a cable, so you may have to chase the wall or your light might not be centered where you want. Line up and level the plastic frame to the wall then screw the screws straight through the plastic into the wall plugs you installed. This means there's no adjustment after you have screwed the first 2 screws so make sure you get it right. When you put the diffuser and the aluminium frame back on, there are two very thin Torx head screws to fix everything top and bottom. There is a small Torx allen type key included. These are horrible, the torx is loose and easy to strip. The screw is hard to put in straight and its far too easy to cross thread them into the pre-threaded holes in the plastic mounting frame. when this happens you're stuffed, you cant then get them back into the original threads, and the screw is so hard to tighten up you may strip the head, use a good torx driver, or a slotted driver to cut new threads with the screw, that's the only way.The rest: B- Once installed, you have to set the PIR up. It is preset to the most stupid setting possible, it will illuminate for 2 seconds when it detects movement, day or night. So unless you want the light flashing on and off all day you need to change it. There's no instructions for a good position to set the PIR so good luck finding something that works for you. I initially set to time horizonal so just above the lowest setting. And the day night vertical, so in the middle of the adjustment range. I will see how this goes. After setting the PIR one of the two lamps I installed would not turn off anymore, whatever setting it tried. So i got a replacement, and found out that there is no way to just swap the sensor unit from one to the other without cutting and splicing wires, so I had to completely remove the old lamp and reinstall the new lamp. Great job Philips. The diffuser's aren't great, you can't see the individual LEDs but its far from an even light. They may as well have sold the lamp with a ES or BC fitting and a separate replaceable LED lamp for all the good the diffuser does. Honestly i would have much preferred this, for later servicability. The LED seems to be driven by a very basic capacitative dropper, but as with most Philips lights there is enough smoothing that it doesn't noticeably flicker, unlike cheaper units, which is a significant plus. There is significant light bleed behind the unit against the brick wall as a result of the mounting frame being a clear plastic. This should have been an opaque material in my opinion to prevent this as it is not a great look. It might be better on a perfectly flat and smooth wall, but will still bleed some light. The light is a warm white, which is fine for me, it is reasonably bright, but does not project downwards significantly, so is better for lighting a wider area or being mounted lower down. Overall: 3 stars/C This is not a great product, but once installed fulfills my needs. I really needed a larger lamp to hide the huge number of drilled holes in the brick wall from previously failed lights. I have another 8 lights to replace, and i may suffer the installs again because most lamps cannot take 2 flat cables easily, and wont cover all the old mounting holes. I would have preferred a white frame rather than this dark grey anthracite, but it will do. Philips should look at this as a learning experience and make better lamps as a result. There is no reason to have a clear plastic mounting frame, the screws should be bigger. The instructions clearer, and the PIR and LED units replaceable, then if there's a failure in the warranty period they can just provide the replacement module.

Nice, understated l look for the driveway
Nice looking light that works well. Being from a quality brand should help it maintain its appearance from being outside in all weather 24*7.The PIR works well and offer a nice light beam.

Very stylish modern look
You’ll need a reasonable amount of experience to fit the light tools required will be a hammer drill if fitting to wall, also need electrical screwdriver don’t attempt this if you’re not confident with electrical work itLooks very modern when fitted haven’t had much time to assess sensor or light quality yetNow having fitted this light I do have some issues with it’s quality which is a little lacking it’s fragile and part’s easily fall off also you have to breakdown the light into parts to install this I found small crazying to the plastic luminous glass which only became apparent during the install I needed the light so didn’t have time to return it the sensor adjustment cover also fell off and was incredibly difficult to put back on due to the fragile nature of the product and on this point you rotate the eyelid cover to access light settings I.e. time on and off and darkness adjustment. I might be wrong but the instructions I had with the light made no reference on how to access the controls and on most sensory devices like this the eyelid just moves up and down Rotating the eyelid is the correct procedureAlso there was no raw plugs or fixing screws in the box which was sent to meNow I might be a little old fashioned but I do like to earth lights there was no option on this light I’m not a qualified electrician so make your own mind upDidn’t get chance to take any photos or videos fitting but if I can give you any help with the process I will gladly try

Great Light
Great value for money. Modern light that illuminates the dark area by my garage. Produces decent coverage. Don't expect flood light level of illumination, however enough to walk to your garage without tripping over. Warm white glow is also great.

Confusing set up instructions
A nice looking lamp, simple to install and connect, energy efficient and gives a good welcoming bright light when in operation. The only problem is the instructions that come with it which are quite confusing. On both the comprehensive written instructions (in 27 languages) and on the simple 4 page picture guide the dawn to dusk adjustment and the timer adjustment are incorrect. The dawn to dusk adjustment is indicated to be on the left as you face the lamp's sensor and the timer for adjusting the time the light stays on, is show to be on the right. However, on the sensor itself they are the opposite way round!Once I had fathomed that out it worked perfectly.Would recommend.

Lasts a few years only
Lasts as long as a good build but when it breaks you have to replace the whole thing….And we call this progress… bring back the simple lamp and build solution..Expected a longer lifespan from Philips…. Won’t pay extra for Philips lights ever again.. buy a cheaper make…. neither will last long anyhow… so save your money…

opgelicht

Philips kein Risiko einer Beanstandung eingehen will. Also klare Kaufempfehlung. Wenn euch die Rezension weitergeholfen hat, klickt gerne unten auf „nützlich“.
