Is the swingyde trainer to be used with the driver as well as the irons?

You can use it with any club. However it is all about training wrist and arm path so it doesn’t matter which club you use.

I’m right handed but hold my clubs goofy. Will this still work?

I would think so. Not sure there are options for left or right handed golfers. If you hold it baseball style it may still work.

Am i best staring with this on a wedge or a middle iron, possibly a 7 iron?

I used to start with a 9 iron just to get the feel , but mostly I practice with a 7 iron if necessary with a 4 hybrid and 3 wood

does it stop flicking of the wrist at impact ?

No, you hinge your wrists into this tool. It's to help you hinge correctly. If you want a tool that stops flipping then try Watsons golf hangar swing tool.
