Lodge BOLD Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Square Griddle, Loop Handles, 12 Inches

I cook breakfast all year around on my lodge skillets. Heat up some canola oil. Hash browns go on first then frozen walmart pork sausage patty then an egg over easy. Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Done. Nothing sticks.

Durable, but heavy. Works great for pancakes and french toast on an electric stove top.

I love Lodge cookware and I regret that I didn’t purchase iron cookware from the beginning of my adult life. There is a learning curve to iron but once you learn it, you will never ever go back to non-stick. This style in particular is amazing. I had never seen this one in the stores but I was intrigued with the reviews and pictures. It was a wonderful purchase. It arrived pre-seasoned. It actually is fantastic with the two handles and a breeze to use as a result. I actually now leave it sitting on my stove ready to use. It’s so much prettier than the one without handles. Two thumbs up!

Durable with excellent size, shape and capacity. The griddle could have been polished more smoothly - like the Cooklife 12” griddle. I bought and tried out both and will probably keep both but a hybrid of the two would be perfect. That said, the Lodge performed well with fried eggs and kippers this morning. I oiled the cooking surface and preheated the griddle on medium heat since I wanted thorough cooking and no burning. Heating was fairly even on my induction stovetop. I rotated it 180 degrees on the stovetop halfway through cooking. Also, I had read about the griddle not being entirely flat. Mine is also not quite flat but the bowing is minor and I do not think it will interfere with its use. Cleanup with water and a kitchen brush was easy. Additional comment: Since the griddle has slightly uneven heat distribution on an induction cooktop there is a problem with larger (6”) pancakes cooking unevenly. I have found that smaller (4”) pancakes do bake more evenly.

Absolutely love it!! It stays on my stove top. We use it almost daily. If you cook with the way you are supposed to cook with cadt iron, it will cook non-stick. You just have to know how to cook with it and how to clean it. And no I did not take a sander to it. There is no need to. Don't do that. Ive been cooking with cast iron my whole cooking life and never has a sander touched a one of my skillets. They were past down from my grandparents that raised me. They are very well seasoned and my new griddle is get well seasoned too.

The size is prefect for two people. I have used it on a stove and on the fire with no issues. Another high quality product from Lodge that I will pass down to my grandkids on day.

I have never had any complaints about any of lodge’s products and I have none here either!! That said Lodges products are typically heavier than their competitors which I suspect is not a plus for people who are not iron aficionados. But for me that means less warping and smoother temperature changes when using them. I hope this is available within a grilling surface as well. Anyway it cooks wonderfully and the preseasoned surface is actually great start and better than I’ve seen in previous products from Lodge so kudos there too!! I love it!!

It starts off by saying it’s a 12 inch skillet but it’s actually 10 inches inside the frame edge. It says it’s good for electric burners but it doesn’t do a good job at all spreading out the heat evenly . The heat is only located in the center of the skillet. I’m very very disappointed. I buy all my cast irons from Lodge and all my other cast-irons are perfect but this one I can tell you now is two thumbs down. I’m very disappointed. I couldn’t express that enough. If you feel that it’s OK to get this pan because it is from lodge feel free to do so.
