Big sound
I absolutely love this speaker. Battery life lasts a long time pairing is super easy. I listen to a lot of electronic music and rock it sounds fantastic coming from this. Sounds good outdoors. I think it has drivers on either end which helps with clarity at a distance.

Long battery life
It feels very durable and it's great to use poolside. The audio quality is great right out the box. My only complaint is that it didn't have an audio jack in so I couldn't hook it up with my synthesizer.

NOT stereo (with caveat) Requires an APP for full function configuration?
So the AI-assisted Q&A for this product listing is misleading. Also customers are posting answers without actually understanding how it works. The Sony UK web site product page it says "Whether you place it horizontally or vertically the SRS-XB23 sits securely so you can always find space for it, wherever you’re partying. When placing it horizontally, you can switch from monoaural audio playback to stereo audio playback using the Sony | Music Center app." So this means that BY DEFAULT this device has two speakers inside but is MONO, not Stereo. Unless you both download and use a Sony App and set it to stereo for horizontal use. This is a disappointment. Why not just place a button on the unit instead of requiring an App?
