Katana Sword - High Toughness Polypropylene Blade, Performing & Training, Includes Scabbard for Aikido

just arrived today and i must say its more than i expected, you get the sword, scabbard, hand guard (which needs to be put on) sword bag and a sword stand. sword is thick but sturdy, bigger than it looked in the pictures too..little flex to it. grip is pretty good too. i dont know how it will do against another training sword as i will be practicing alone but i believe it would def leave a mark if it accidently hit someone. scabbard has a glossy finish to it, very attractive. the sword stand isnt anything special, lil bit of wobble but does the job and the sword bag is a nice touch. i got this as im new to this and def dont want to practice with a real blade (really like having all my fingers and toes) the sword fits snug in the scabbard without the handguard on but once gaurd is on, it prevents a snug fit so it will very easily come out so keep that in mind.. perhaps a slight wrap of electrical tape would take up the slack, i will try it... but all in all this is a very sturdy practice sword and for the price, i cant find anything that needs improvement. highly recommend for anyone just beginning or even for the more expierienced. as long as you dont go wacking trees with it, you wont be disappointed

Not just a indestructable oractice sword but it also comes with a super tough sheath to boot! Giving you another awesome skill to practice of resheathing your sword at speed. Rounded but still beautiful, you are in no danger of cutting yourself with this super strong poly katana. When swinging this out side in the yard I accidently got to close to my shed and whamo! I cranked the corner of the wooden building, with zero damage to my practice katana,but unfortunately a nice dent in my shed. The quality of these bokken are second to none. Comes with a cheap but effective stand to display it and a linen cover for traditional storage. The thickness of these polymer bokken give it a very similar weight to a real steel katana so when praticing you are training your muscles as well which is key to proper sword handling and control. The one piece design ensures no loosening of the grip thru use and the size of the bokken is the same as your average katana giving you a true training aid. the addition of a matching hard sheath gives you additional traing features as well. Highly recomended.

Unsurprisingly, a little lighter than a metal one but not by much. Tsuba comes as a separate piece; must be manually slid on. Everything else is one piece, so no worry of the wrap sliding or anything. Fits well into saya, resistant to sliding out when held upside down. Comes with a sword bag and stand, good freebies. Bag has shoulder strap for easier carrying. Stand is rather thin as well as too snug and gets stuck to saya, must be manually detached (see picture).Mine has scratches around the base of the blade; hard to spot and shouldn't affect performance in any way, but a little ugly.

The bokken is sturdy and has a good practice weight comparable to a real sword. I did not have the problem with the Tsuba coming loose like a few others have indicated The only issue and why I gave 4 stars is the Tsuka (handle) poly molding, which is molded to look like a real katana handle, is rough on my hands when practicing. I am considering doing a wrap of black hockey tape or other to ease that a bit. If the handle were just textured it might be better. For the price, you can't beat the value considering a wood bokken can range up over 100 dollars

While I have an oak Bokken, or training Samurai sword, wanted one with a scabbard (saya). This product fit the bill.The polypropylene sword is stylish, attractive, well balanced and weighs a little less than my oak version (540 vs 585 grams).The handle has a wrapping that looks great, and helps one grip the sword.The sword easily moves in and out of the scabbard, which makes it ideal for Iaito, or sword drawing practice. The scabbard is made from a sturdy, fairly thick plastic.However, there is no connection to attach the scabbard to a belt for carrying or Iaito. Will have to engineer or buy something that functions like the scabbard knob (Kurikata) and cord (sageo).The sword comes with a nice looking stand for a table or shelf, made of hard plastic.Overall, extremely happy with my purchase.

Its a great training katana. It is strong and one a cheap plastic. It is the sizes of a standard katana. I recommend this for any wanting to learn how to wield a katana.

Excellent practice sword. I’m very surprised that such a quality piece would cost so little. I’m considering buying another one for sparring partners. I’m very pleased with the sword (katana) and scabbard (saya).
