Works for me
The first question is: does it work? Yes, yes it does. At least, it works for me. The principle is pretty simple and well proven - regulating your breathing helps to induce relaxation. You time your breathing to the device and you'll soon nod off to sleep. It gives you something to focus your attention on and the enclosed booklet (I got one in English) gives a few more tips too.The next question is - is it worth the money? Getting a good night's sleep is invaluable, so from that point of view it's definitely worth it. On the other hand, the hardware is pretty simple. There are no fancy optics to make the spot grow and shrink, it just makes the LEDs brighter and dimmer. No doubt a lot of research and development has gone into making this device, it seems to be made of quality materials and it does what it claims, but £44 seems an awful lot of money for three LEDs, a micro controller and some batteries. Having said that, psychology is weird so if they cut corners on manufacturing and sold really cheap nobody would believe it would work - and that includes you, no matter how rational you think you are. It's not perfect though. The light actually appears fairly bright if you dim the lights before bed as I do, and there's no way to alter the maximum brightness. The batteries are jammed in pretty tight; they come pre-installed and should last a while, but eventually you'll need to change them and it won't be as easy as you might expect. The manual is careful to explain that you shouldn't touch the touch sensor part when changing the batteries, but given the entire top is touch sensitive that could be awkward. While it certainly helps you get to sleep, it doesn't make you go to bed in the first place. It's 0:55 and I have work in the morning. Why on Earth am I writing reviews on Amazon? And you, what are you doing reading it? It's late! Go to bed. If you can't get to sleep, come back and order this pretty little gadget to help you get some much needed kip.

Great idea, poor product
I had seen the bad product reviews on Amazon but thought I would give this a try. I get to sleep pretty well but something to destress and relax before sleep is a nice idea. The item is nicely packaged, reminiscent of Apple products and there is a small wad of instructions covering lots of European languages. The Dodow comes complete with everything you need to get started including 3 AAA batteries. The Dodow consists of a small coffee coaster size disc around 1cm deep. The top is 'touch sensitive' and from the top there are the 3 blue LEDs that create the blue light on your ceiling. There are no switches or any other controls and there is exactly the problem. There are minimal instructions, on/off, 3 light settings and 8/20 min programme; simple enough you might think, not so.All issues from what I can make out span from the 'touch sensitive' controls, this is not smart phone touch sensitivity far from it. The instructions make reference to 'tapping' the top of the device to control but a gentle tap is insufficient, as is a touch, somewhere inbetween is the sweet spot.It also employs some time sentitive controls eg 'tap and hold for 3 seconds', sometimes this registers other times not, or its just faulty.Generally the Dodow is a let down, looks great but terrible controls. And not worth trying it out for the hassle of having to return it.
