Cuisinart EasyPop Hot Air Popcorn Maker (Red)

I am starting on Weight Watchers after overindulging this past season. Turns out air popped corn is zero points so a good snack choice. I chose this air popper because it is attractive and a brand that has made good products for me in the past. It works best when I put in a half cup of kernels. One half cup of kernels and push the button - next thing you know you have a big bowl of fresh popcorn! When it gets near the end of popping I turn off the heat and that seems to prevent any burnt popcorn at the very end of the popping. My only possible complaint is that the actual button is rather small and I wish it was bigger. Overall I am thrilled with the fun of making popcorn and the fact that this is a healthier (and cheaper) way to do it instead of buying microwave bags.

I read a lot of Amazon reviews when I looked to replace the possibly-fifty-year-old air popper I've been using. That old model was great, but the top had cracked and no longer fitted properly and nearly caught my kitchen on fire, so... time for a new one. Apparently nobody actually makes popcorn poppers like they did in the 60s/70s, but actually that's fine. The first time I cranked this baby up it spat unpopped corn all over the kitchen, and lost about half of the popped stuff since it popped in the bowl. Not great. However, for that first try I had less than a quarter cup of small, low quality corn and smaller bowl. The second time I used it, I had larger, better quality corn, used the whole of the measuring cup they provide, and a bigger bowl. It popped beautifully. There were hardly any unpopped kernels - far fewer than my ancient popper ever had - and very few were lost to the kitchen floor. A complete success! And all I had to do was follow the directions. I've only used the popper twice, so I can't speak to longevity, but I'm very happy with it so far. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted.

I eat a LOT of popcorn. I've gone through two Cuisinart air poppers, the previous model to this one. Loved both of them. So when the second one finally gave out (the plug was getting very hot and became a fire hazard), I bought this one. More expensive than all the others of the same kind, but worth it! (so I thought) I tried it twice and noticed two things. One, it gives off a weird chemical, off-gassing smell. I thought maybe you have to run it for a while to get rid of the smell, but even after two full runs of making popcorn it still smells weird when it's on. I cleaned it per the instructions but the smell is coming from inside the machine. Over time, that smell would probably go away, but it's concerning to wonder how many batches of popcorn before that happens. The other problem is unfortunately a show-stopper for me. I use the smaller kernel Bob's Red Mill popcorn. The old Cuisinart popper had no problem with them. This new one... half the kernels eject into the bowl before popping. Like, fully half. I keep scooping them up to toss them back in, but even then my bowl winds up with an awful lot of unpopped kernels and way less actual popcorn than the old machine produced. So, sadly, I will need to send this back and find an alternative.

I make popcorn about 4 times a week. I'm addicted. The motor of my old popper died. The design had changed so I went on a search for a new one. This is the best I found. The switch has an "on" and a "cool down" button so I hope it lasts. When you first start the popper many kernels fly out. I with the shape was different so that doesn't happen as much, and when I finish there are about 10-15 unpopped kernels (and this is the same batch as what I used on my old popper, so it is not the kernels). I don't use the butter melter as that is too much work to clean....I just put a small dish in the microwave and then put the dish in the dishwasher. The kernels do pop quickly. Not an amazing machine but the best I've found.

Second time buying one of these. So easy to use and makes delicious hot popcorn for a fraction of the price you’d pay for pre-made. Saved us money and gave us a much better taste. Doesn’t really need cleaning often but a quick hand wash does the job. Would recommend.

The EasyPop Hot Air Popper works very well. I previously had another hot air popper years ago, can't remember brand, and it did not have an on/off switch, this one does. The other difference between previous popper is that the butter warmer at top sits on a completely closed seat. The previous popper had this area open, allowing hot air to escape from top of machine. The butter melt dish sits within this area. I don't use butter so I don't use it. It's not too loud, has some noise but not super loud. Has a max fill line inside of popper and a manual with clear instructions for use and recipes. Great quality material. In my opinion the cost is justified. Received in the Cuisinart inner box, well packed, and an outer thick cardboard, Cuisinart labeled box. Very satisfied with purchase.

So, I love this. I wore a Presto one out-after 1.5 years of 3-5 times a week use. With the Presto one-the lid cracked after about 6 months-I just sort of rigged it to make it okay. The Presto plastic got so hot and almost felt a little melted after every use. Anyway- I almost didn't buy this because of all the "OMG!! It the hot air makes the popcorn fly everywhere!!!"-thank goodness I ignored those reviews (no offense to the popcorn coming out disliking people. ) Anyway-yes popcorn does come out of the shoot-becaue it is corn that "pops" when the hot air makes it hot enough-go figure. :) Good Buy (for me at least) because- Feels more sturdy than Presto. Has an on/off switch (Presto is auto on when plugged in-kinda feel like its a race against time when-plugging and unplugging. Looks better (it's out so much-it needs too-for my decorator want-to-be self) Bad for some reviewers, I wouldn't have even noticed without the complaints, no matter its a solvable (and predictable "issue") - When popping popcorn with a hot air popper-put a bowl the size of a Kitchen Aid mixer bowl-sort of in front of it-the first few times just watch it to see where the popcorn comes out. That will catch it all-I use that-but the bowl back under the mixer-and put popcorn in a bowl for flavoring/storing. I hardly ever loose any-if you're really worried about it-but a bowl in the sink and put the popper on the edge of the sink. I love it-glad I ignored "flying popcorn!" reviews and spent the extra $$$. If it ends up with any issues like I had with the others-I'll update because I'll feel ripped of for paying so much more. -I have no time to write any (mother of 3 who are 4 y/o and under-plus I work) I do it because I read reviews for 100% of the many (and by many-I mean many-UPS guy knows my family-and we had him over to watch the Super Bowl!) La mejor compra de la cuarentena, se arma súper fácil, y las palomitas 🍿 listas en unos minutos, sin aceite, no se queman y se reventaron todas, agregado puedes colocarles mantequilla 🧈 la cual se derrite en el compartimiento superior. Excelente!

Funciona muy bien, en 2 - 3 minutos tienes tus palomitas (mismo tiempo que el microondas). Fácil de limpiar, no tiene complicaciones y las palomitas revientan bonito. Lei reviews que decían que las palomitas no saben a nada, y efectivamente no saben a NADA, completamente sin sabor, ni sabor a maíz ni nada de nada sin exageración, lo cual me hace pensar cuánta cosa tendrán las de microondas. Tan no tienen nada que no se les pega la sal refinada, ni el chile piquín, ni tajín, todo se va al fondo por que no se queda en las palomitas. Ahora si eres mexicano, seguramente le pones Salsa Valentina entonces no tienes problema, o como en otros países que compran saborizaste en polvo muy fino, de repente saben a palomitas de feria. Considero que la falta de sabor es solo costumbre o encontrarle la maña, de que preparadas de esta manera son un snack completamente saludable, lo son, puedes comer una gran cantidad por poca o nula cantidad de calorías.
