IngenuiTEA Loose Tea Infuser - Brewer - 450ml

Wish I hadn’t waited so long to get one of these.. I am drinking far more of my herbal teas than ever before. So easy, much more room to expand and flavour. I make it quite strong then top up throughout the day with extra warm water. Even my dog is benefiting from some fresh peppermint tea.

Easy to use, gets the job done, never leaked, does exactly what you expect it to do, some good cups of tea from it.

This is the second such teapot that I've had - this being a slightly different version of the first one I was given and that lasted me 3-4 years. I use mine daily and one heaped teaspoon of loose leaf tea lasts me throughout the day in this fantastic gadget, making 5-6 cups of tea before it is too weak for me to enjoy. The beauty of this teapot is that the leaves don't sit in any leftover water in between cups - the clever design means all the water drains out of the bottom of the pot direct into your mug, leaving the tea leaves ready for the next refill of hot water, as fresh as the first cup. Although loose leaf tea may cost more this is such an economical way to drink good quality tea of interesting varieties throughout the day. It's incredible to see the size the leaves have unfurled to by the end of the day! The pot is easy enough to clean - knock the damp leaves into the bin - or compost bin - and give it a swill with water. It xanbe taken apart and put in the dishwasher or soaked in Miltons Liquid occasionally. I'll never use a tea bag in the house again - except for visitors who just want 'builder's tea'!

Makes a nice cup of tea, simply put in the tea leaves, add water and let it brew then put it on your cup and the water flows in. Or hold over the cup and push the base up to let the water drain out. Just be careful that the cup is big enough for the water in the infuser if you put the infuser on the top as it'll drain all the water out. The filter can be pulled out, first time may feel like needs some effort, to make cleaning easier. I've rated flavour in the review but to be honest that's down to the tea used, but didn't want to bring down the overall rating. Doesn't need to keep the tea warm for long, as only used for long enough to brew it then transfer to your cup.

The photographs do not do this product justice; the plastic is much like a crystal clear acrylic and looks more expensive. The functionality of the teapot is almost futuristic and is lot of fun to use. It can be used with loose tea or tea bags; I have also used it with ground coffee the filter is very fine. The only minor problem is that there is always a single drip after pouring, which typically happens if you have sat it on a table/cloth without a small saucer under it. Apart from this i have had no other issues with it and use it most days - guests and, in particular children, are usually intrigued by its operation. To go with the ingenuitea i would recommend a clear cup or mug so that you can see when it is full without the risk of it over flowing. There appears to be a thick-skinned myopia in the design of many products. It is, as if (and as might actually be), there is a complete failure of the designers to use and truly understand what they have to design. So my existing filter teapot has an inner chamber that contains the tea, but which sits above the bottom of the flask, and has nearly an inch without holes, so unless the pot is very full, the tea leaves merely get a soaking as the water pours in. This product, however, has the leaves right at the bottom, allowing for a full unleashing of flavour. And the flow of colour from the leaves is super clear to see. When placed on a mug or cup, the tea filters down with the perfect slow speed and is captivating to watch. A product that works brilliantly and is a delight to behold. Now why did it take so long to get here? Will buy one for my sister. Highly recommended.

Every now and again you come across an item that is really innovative and does exactly what is designed to do and does it better than anything else out there. This is one of those products. Its robust and well made. Being plastic the heat of the water is not lost in heating the pot up. The lid also retains the heat while your tea is brewing. After 3 or 4 minutes simple place onto a mug and it filters through. Best tea ever. Very easy to rinse out the tea leaves and clean. This item is simply genius and would make a great gift for anyone who loves tea. UPDATE Been using this now for a few weeks and still think its brilliant. Had a tea bag tea recently and the difference was amazing. No going back now. Been through the dishwasher a few times now and still like new. One of the best items I've purchased on Amazon.
