Does the entire strap end to end measure 40" or just the foam part and it does not count the ends? My strap now is about 41" and I need it that short

The entire strap, when adjusted to it's shortest length is about 41 inches..(hole to hole).

I purchased the long strap and really appreciate the quality. It turned out to be just a bit too long for me. Can you suggest ways to shorten it?

You can’t. Best bet is to return it and get the shorter one.

Is there a medium option? I just measured 2 of my straps, one is 46" hole to hole and the other is 47".

Hi Shredso - you're right on the brink there so you'd need one short and one long Better for each instrument with the differing length of strap required as the Betty Short works from 40" to 46" and the Betty Long works from 47" to 59".

Is the short length ok for an acoustic guitar ?

I got the Long’s on a taylor acoustic and a PRs electric and I’m 5’10 and 200lbs. You can always shorten the long’s but not lengthen the shorts. Just my two cents.
