Nadia is a leading teacher of yoga in the UK and is sought after by celebrities and students for her powerful straightforward teachings. Session 1: This routine is practised on the chair for the entire sequence. It begins with a flowing warm up incorporating the breath with movement and includes the basic yoga postures and principles. Session 2: This routine is a combination of seated and standing poses practised both on and off the chair. The programme begins on the chair with gentle stretches but then incorporates poses such as Warrior 1 and Tree Pose using the chair as a stable prop. Session 3: This gentle flowing routine is practised on the ground and includes a meditation. It was created to stretch the body to relieve tension and release stress.

Personal experience
This is my first experience of yoga, having done adapted ti-chi before. I thought I'd give it a go as it was seated (on arrival there are 3 routines - one fully seated, one partially and one sat on the floor). I found as other reviewers said that the instructor goes a bit too fast and so you don't really have time to properly process what she is telling you to do and perhaps she could explain better? The breathing parts weren't explained very well or given enough time so I felt unsure thoughout. So, it wasn't calming. She spoke too quickly which made it difficult to concentrate and so I opted to mute. I have fibro so can't do the full range of movement on the seated section and had to stop completely halfway but I think I will stick with doing little bits as the dvd was quite cheap and it's not worth returning.

speedy delivery
speedy delivery, a little misleading as only one of the three sections is chair based.after receiving a knee injury I cannot put pressure on my knees, the second and third section of this video has a lot of excercises that are not suitable as they are either standing or on floor on knees.hopefully I can progress to these at a later date as my injury improves

Not that easy
I have given this a try and it isn't as easy as it sounds. I'm sure I will get the hang of it eventually. For someone who hasn't done any yoga for years, I struggled. It would have helped if the instructor either went a bit slower or showed the moves as if in a mirror. My grasp of right and left has never been brilliant and, by the time I had thought "which is my left" she had moved on and left me floundering.

Good yoga programme
I will need to use this dvd a few times before I can do all the poses correctly. The presenter is a bit too fast when telling the viewer what to do- by the time I had grasped how to do the pose, she had moved on to the other side or a new pose. Other than that, it is a very nice dvd and I am sure I will benefit from using it.

Chair Yoga DVD
Bought it as my mobility has reduced following knee replacement, so can no longer kneel on floor.Sections 1 is all chair yoga movements, with Section 2 using the chair for support whilst standing. However Section 3 is NOT chair Yoga as this is mostly upright & floor yoga exercises which although I have enjoyed in the past, are no longer possible for me. I therefore think it is incorrect for this to be titled "Chair Yoga" as people with limited mobility who wanted yoga moves whilst seated would find Section 3 a bit restrictive.

chair yoga
great, but the pace - ironically for yoga - is rushed, giving little time to "get" the move before we are on to the next one. maybe previous knowledge and experience would be best

Great for asthma, ribcage injury.
As a full-time teacher and a carer, who has chronic costochondritis and asthma, yoga is very beneficial. However, if I have a bad flare-up of the costochondritis (with pain triggering asthma problems), planks, downward dog etc are not advised, due to pressure on the sternum. So when I saw Nadia Narain's "Chair Yoga", I thought, 'This is for me!'.I have had the 1st 4 weeks of my 6 week teacher summer holiday interrupted by a bad costochondritis flare-up, with the inevitable asthma. However, I have just completed the "standing and seated sequence" from "Chair Yoga" and it was amazing. After just 20 minutes, pain reduction in chest and spine, breathing better, walking taller, less stiffness in ribcage and decidedly less stressed. Just after 1 attempt at the 2nd sequence on the DVD.Thank you Nadia, now I can do a meaningful yoga flow, even in a costochondritis flare-up, and without risk of making the flare-up worse.
