3x4 micro-mesh pads
Good quality and size, works well. Second purchase. Can be used for plastic, metal, etc. A little pricy but worth it.

*SO* much better than sandpaper for fine/"mini"/detail work ((No, they will not sand down rough-hewn long...))
- I had my first experience with Micro-Mash with a stainless-steel-sink scratch-removal kit. I didn't use it on a sink, but it worked great on various other stainless steel items, and worked *even better* on tropical hardwoods - the polish those put on Gabon Ebony and so on was actually reflective - not like a mirror of course, but not like anything I'd seen on unfinished wood before.- So, I bought this set. As described, they are all a full 3" X 4" - I didn't measure the thickness of the foam layer, but it's thick enough to write the grit sizes on the side with an ultra-fine Sharpie. ((That was the first thing I did, just to make things as easy as possible.))- And yup, they work great! I like these sooooooo much more than sandpaper, because they don't "shed" grit, and the abrasive works so well.- Now, I *do* tend to buy "dimensional lumber", things like guitar fret-board blanks, other luthier-grade woods, and other pieces that are smaller and fairly smooth to begin with, simply because I do not, and cannot, have a well-equipped shop. Plus, anything I do is fairly small, anyway. So for smoothing-down prepped wood, 'sanding' between finish coats, and the like, these are superb.- Common sense should indicate that, given what these do well, they will not do much on rough lumber or salvaged barn beams or the like; they are NOT "first pass" abrasive pads. Of course, we all know that *someone* will give them one star because they didn't work to turn salvaged railroad ties into glass-smooth objects of art, LOL!!! But seriously, for musical instruments, miniatures, and the like, I really like these because they work so well, are so much cleaner than sandpaper, and the sponge/foam layer adapts to curves and surface imperfections.

Easy to use and very effective!
Sometimes polishing compounds just won't do the job. These pads work on metal, plastic - even wood. Start with the rougher grades, rob and polish. Then proceed to the finer pads. I've even taken noticeable scratches in plastic and even glossy wood finish and polished it to the point that the surface was back to looking new!

Amazing Sanding Pads
These are amazing! All you need is patience and you can make any piece of wood look like you put a gloss finish on it. I use them for sanding knife scales and after rough shaping, I use these pads starting with 1500 grit and progressing all the way to 12,000. If you have the patience to sand things, and you want a flawless finish, these are perfect! I opted for the 3 x 4 pads, though they make a 2 x 2 as well. I cut them in half to make 2 sets of 2 x 3 pads.NOTE: The pads are colored and have a matching color coded chart to identify the various grits. Some of the colors are tough to discern if you have poor eyesight or are colorblind. So far, each set I have ordered has been packaged in order by grit, so I take a permanent marker and write a number from 1 to 9 on the foam edge of the sanding pad to identify coarsest to finest. I put the same number on the provided color chart to make it easy to identify which pad I am using.

Works Great!!
These Micro Mesh pad work great and the size allows me to cut them in half, so it's like getting twice as many for the same price.

A 1001 Uses
These Micro-Mesh Sanding Pads are my (now not so) secret solution to achieving magnificent finishes on wooden gun stocks. After sanding with paper to 1000 grit using a sanding block, I switch over to these little babies! They are just the right size to fit nicely in the palm of your hand, but they also are thin enough to "feel" small curvatures of the wood and best of all, no sanding block needed. Sometimes using human touch with a hand-finished sanding is the only way to get that just-right finish...The sandpaper (sandcloth?) is on both sides and the pads themselves prove to be quite durable. If you encounter ANY oils, dirt traps easily on them, but as they are good for wet or dry sanding, I have successfully washed and reused them over and over. So far, I have used these fine grits for final finishing on bare wood (dry sanding), between coats of tru-oil, urethane, lacquer and BLO mixtures. I have also had success using high grit to shine plastics from small scratches and even glass headlights with scratches.Sure, these sanding pads are a little pricey, but considering all of their uses and lifespan, they are unbeatable.

Work as expected.
Bought these over the 2x2 sizes to cut these up in to 3rd's. More bang for the buck that way. Use these to polish frets, and smooth wooden surfaces. Micromesh is amazing for when you don't feel like pulling out a rotary tool to polish frets that might get buffing compound everywhere. Or if you want to really make a surface incredibly smooth. Work on leather, wood, and metal. I love micromesh. These are a decent product.
