Indispensable Top Cat!
I watched Top Cat as a kid in the mid 60s , but this, I see now of course, is not just kids' stuff. I am amazed at the high quality of the scripts - they could have been written yesterday (or perhaps not, if you subscribe to the view that 'they don't make them like this anymore'!: very witty and very funny (a la Bilko). The little details in the animation are wonderful as well. In one of those mad fits of nostalgia we more senior citizens can be prone to, I bought some other DVD sets along with this one - the Flintstones, for example. As good as the others are (if uneven) this present set is a delight throughout. Everyone with a DVD player should own a copy. And if you don't have a DVD player, buy this set anyway, then get one. You wont find a better excuse. Good old Hanna-Barbera!

Top Cat is Top Dog
This is just a great walk down memory lane (for me) but my kids (aged 9 and 11) also really enjoy it. We sit down as a family from time to time to watch the next episode and it is just good wholesome, very funny, family entertainment. I think this is one of the best value for money items I have ever purchased (NB even my wife loves it and she just hates cartoons generally). The voices, the characters, the humour, this was a very polished cartoon series and the somewhat out of date and clunky animation techniques take nothing away from the enjoyment. I am constantly amazed at how good it is. Only trouble is there are 30 episodes and we are now on number 28! Recommend, recommend, recommend.

Top Cat 5xDVD Boxed Set
I already had my own copy of this 5xDVD set. I gave this one to a friend of about the same age, who also grew up with Top Cat. It's great to have all 5 DVD's together in one case!

West Side Kitty
Cartoons are not just for kids! "Top Cat" aka "Boss Cat" was a much appreciated series by young parents in the sixties. Because of the almost thirty-minutes running time they could occupy a childs mind during that awkward period between school finishing and meal times. There was a lot of Phil Silvers (Sgt. Bilko) in TC's delivery, following on from Mr Jinks, the cat in HB's "Pixie and Dixie" slot. I always felt that TC owed a lot to the musical "West Side Story". "TC" and his gang were a feline version of the Jets, not,of course, advocating weapons or violence, but just simple exercises in hoodwinking Sgt. Dibble, {Officer Krupke}.Whatever was in the mind of these master animators, it certainly proved to be a popular and succesful series of cartoons. It's great to see them all together in this superb DVD collection. The kid's are welcome to watch, but "TC" is for everyone, young or old!

Top Cat - Top Class!
This is a must for all Hanna-Barbera fans. It ranks along with the all-time-greats of annimation. As a child (well teenager actually) I always had a soft spot for Benny. I rushed home from school to see this when originally aired on TV, and was rarely disappointed. Now after all these years, once more the child, I watched the shows again and laughed my socks off. All of the characters say so much more than just the words they speak. Beautifully restored, with some interesting bonus features (like actors voices and original storyboard sketches), this is great value for money. Whether you have or haven't seen it before, it's well worth owning as all the characters are just so adorable. The only negative is the multi-disc packaging, which I couldn't get the discs out of, fast enough.

get your hands off my phone T.C!!
I remember when I was in school in the late 90's early 00's my dad recorded top cat on a VHS tape for me when it was on BBC 2 so I could watch them later when I got home. We didn't record many as we didn't realise it was on until they nearly finished the season, I probably got about 7 or 8 episodes recorded. Sadly like VCR's did then, it chewed the tape leaving me devastated.12/13 years on I discovered the dvd and couldn't resist ordering it as a birthday treat for myself and must have binge watched the whole thing. Still as amazing as I remember! Also, it's packed with special features including commentaries with Leo de Lyon (voice of Spook and The Brain), interviews and a documentary about the actors and characters. Not to mention a great interview with T.C's voice actor Arnold Stang. He seemed such a sweet man and it's really hard to mistake his voice.
