York Fitness1" Spinlock Dumbbell Bar with Collars

You get what you pay for paying a bit more than the other dumbell bars and you definitely notice the better quality. Nice grip not to rough or slippery and for wearing gloves dose not rip them apart. Nicely balanced with or without weights and most importantly weights will not slip over the hand grip lips. It has two rubber rings on each end, one on the hand grip lip and one one the spin lock. So weights will not rattle to badly and course to much off balance even if the spin lock gets lose which is a common problem with spin lock bars but the York bar does stay more secure. Metal fatigue and no not listening to too much iron maiden but metal flakes come off the bar after using spin locks which is another problem all spin lock bars suffer with due to the metal on metal so some suffer more worse than others better the bar the less and smaller the flakes will be and happens a lot less and happy to report this bar is one of those. So all in all a very good spin lock dumbell. I've been using weights and gyms on and off now for 36 years.

I already had a lot of weights & exercise equipment from York before buying this item and, since they have served me so well, it was an easy decision to stick with them when I needed another spinlock bar.In my experience equipment by York has always been well-designed, robust & practical in use (rather than just looking the part), and this new dumbbell spinlock bar is of the same breed as expected. York stuff isn't quite bottom of the price ladder, but my opinion is always to pay a little bit more for something that is going to be used over and over again for a long period of time.I suppose this review can't be perfect as I have not had the luxury of testing exercise equipment from different suppliers and, hence, I don't have any basis for comparison. What I can say though is that York haven't steered me wrong yet, they've satisfied my demand without any issues at all.A quality product which gets my vote.

They work very well.

Ordered what I thought was a pair from another source and only 1 arrived, and then they were out of stock, so had to buy another single - why are they sold as singles ?...the screw lock is just a slightly different size to one i already have, so the locks are not interchangeable ? - why isn't there a standard thread size ?. They do feel robust, but the collars undo themselves when performing supination curls, so you need to get some spring locks/clips to put behind the collars to avoid this. Overall, quite sturdy.

Product advertised as made by York but the packaging shows no York markings and neither does the bar.Expensive but the quality is ok but could probably get cheaper.

Well made exactly what I wanted had some cheap dumbbells from a cheap supermarket with clips instead of screw on lock and they didn’t hold the waits very well. Lost one of mine in our last move. Easy to screw locks on.
