Yamaha Quality Throughout.
I bought the NP-32 as an addition to my existing Yamaha Clavinova digital piano as it is light and portable in comparison. Although the sound quality of this keyboard is great it's not as powerful as my Clavinova but that was expected due to the 12Watt output compared to the 60Watts of the Clavinova. The semi-weighted full sized keys feel great to play on and the nearly full length of the 76 key keyboard means there are very few compositions that are likely to need any adaption. The excellent quality of the Yamaha AWM sampled voices speak for themselves with a lovely tone and quality too and with 64 note polyphony you won't run out of notes whilst playing. There are 10 voices available (PIANO 1 - Full Concert Grand, PIANO 2 - Standard Piano, E.PIANO 1 - FM Synthesis Electronic Piano, E.PIANO 2 - Electric Piano with Hammer Struck Tines, ORGAN 1 - Typical Pipe Organ, ORGAN 2 - Full Coupler Organ, STRINGS - String Ensemble, VIBES - Softly Played Vibraphone, HARPS 1 - Standard Harpsichord, HARPS 2 - Standard Harpsichord Mixed with Higher Octave Harpsichord). There are demo songs for each voice, accessible via the DEMO button and another 10 piano demo songs accessed from the keyboard.Voices of different types (except STRINGS + VIBES) can be combined with adjustable octave and volume to great effect. An inbuilt metronome is also available which can be adjusted in volume, beat and tempo. There is a memory for recording your playing and compositions which can record a maximum of 7,000 notes which should be plenty for any performance. Unlike my older Clavinova the NP-32 has a built-in MIDI interface which means connection to a computer to use MIDI software and control the NP-32 via computer is possible without any additional equipment - although suitable software would need to be purchased separately. Many of the settings of the NP-32 are accessed via the keyboard such as Octave, Reverb, Transpose, Reverb Type, MIDI Control, Tuning and Touch Sensitivity. Although this enables the front panel to stay simple and easy to use it's likely you'll have to refer to the owners manual to change certain settings as a result. However, to play, record and listen is extremely simple too. I think this keyboard would suit anyone wanting the sound and feel of a real piano without the cost and with portability and many extra functions to boot, or for the music student up to an intermediate level.

Perfect for me as a beginner
At the grand old age of 55 I decided I wanted to learn to play piano. As a total beginner I was a bit confused with all the choices out there. I didn’t want to spend too much money but didn’t want one that was really cheap either. I decided one with fully weighted keys would be lost on me as I wanted a keyboard just for a fun hobby, so took the plunge and bought this one. I’m really pleased with it! - it has enough different functions and sounds to make it interesting but not confusing and the touch sensitive keys feel solid, as does the sheet music stand that comes with it. For my purposes the sound is good too. It’s really light compared to others I’d seen and is quite slim which was another plus point for me as I don’t have a lot of room at home. I chose the package deal with the RockJam stand and purchased separately a Tiger KGB14-12 carry case which fits the keyboard perfectly….I can definitely recommend all 3.

So like a real piano
We have had our piano for a few weeks now. It feels so like a real piano, with excellent feel to the keys, a soft touch giving quiet tones and a heavy touch good volume and tone. The piano sound is of a quality piano, with 5 tones to choose from. We specifically wanted a piano rather than a keyboard with masses of different sounds. We went for the 68 keys so we could play most music without running out for keys. The metronome is useful for helping get the correct rhythm to a piece one is not familiar with. It also plays lots of demos - something to aspire to! You can connect these teaching programs through an Apple link so the program knows what you are doing. It came with Flowkey which we like, but you need an iPad. Flowkey is meant to be able to listen to what you are playing, but it was not brilliant at doing that, getting left behind. For the money it is amazing.

The product is sold at a good price and was of the quality we expected from Yamaha.Service let down by Hermes the courier. Waited in all day after they specified a date but failed to deliver. I took a day off work and there was no way of contacting them with it being a Saturday. Very frustrating.

Quality!
Fantastic Yamaha quality! Beautiful tone. The keys have a nice push action, very similar to a real piano. Volume control and headphone plug in is perfect for those in Apartment situations. Enough bells and whistles for someone who's a more advanced player but simple enough for a beginner to figure out. This is a solid, really well made piano for home or for taking around (not too heavy). Not for a professional but for a home player this is a great piano, especially for the price.

Good value product
I bought this to learn piano. At the same time, I learn with my son. This is a good product for beginners. We both like it a lot.

Great quality musical instrument for all ages!
Wasnt really sure which make and model to go with but the Yamaha NP32 has not disappointed. I am by no means a professional player but took some lessons years back at school and wanted to pick up on my learning again whilst teaching my 12yr old son and this is ideal. Personally, I do think it is a little pricey for what it is but this was the best price I found and I imagine alot of the cost is related to the brand. If you are seriously considering this item, I would say go for it!

Buzzing from speakers (!?!) So disappointing
The media could not be loaded. I'm disappointed beyond words. I got this for Christmas, so have been playing it for the last month. It's everything I would have wanted. But one flaw leaves it unplayable: when playing lowers notes with the volume past half way, the speakers produce a nasty buzzing sound. This is not due to the room or anything in it. The same problem occurs when the keyboard is used in any other room. It's either an issue with the speakers or an issue with the build.I don't think I can trust anything from aYamaha again.
