This was seen as a non fatal way to discourage a flock of white doves from hanging around the house. The “gun” is very solidly made. I agree with other reviewers who say the claims of distance the jet travels are exaggerated. However, as a bird scarer it works. Even if the jet of water doesn’t come anywhere near reaching the target, the way it breaks up into tiny droplets heading in their direction seems to be enough to scatter the flock. A couple of shots later, they appear to be avoiding the area. They are still roosting on nearby rooftops, but don’t come near us. And if they decide to try again, I’m more than happy to give them another shot.

Bought this for our grandson for summer water fights, just waiting for warmer weather.He thinks it is brilliant. I have been using it as well in the garden as we have a problem with cats using it as a toilet also big problem with squirrels who like making holes in the lawn. We haven’t got a massive garden so I can still soak things on the back fence so for me the range is ok. The only problem is getting the top off to fill it up which for my grandson’s small fingers it can be difficult. Happy with purchase.

Last year the Duncurins were overrun with squirrels who had stripped regularly the large feeder next door of all its monkey nuts and then arrived in our garden to bury them but along the way dug up all the bulbs that my wife had planted and also cut the solar-powered lights we had painstakingly attached to the wooden arbour in the corner.This year we adopted a more relaxed approach and decided to let events run, but when the squirrels started attacking the Robins' nest that they had painstakingly built under the garage eves, we decided that enough was enough. We ordered this Nerf gun and of course Amazon delivered it in no time. We thought we would raise the pace a little and also bought some peppermint oil essence which could be diluted in water. A few drops of the essence and then fill the gun and away you go.Oh well, the squirrels hate it! Of course you have to be quick off the mark, at least at first, you have to go out there upon each siting of an errant squirrel. Range is nowhere near as advertised but in a way this does not matter as a bit like a Spitfire with its vital concentration of rounds at 100 yards from the 8 Brownings, this gun does produce a hefty dousing of water perfect for hitting the squirrel. It will even have a go at reaching them when they try to climb the trees and as they run along the fence they are easy prey.Of course, we don't want to harm the squirrels - we heard from a friend about a lady whose house backs onto Worsley woods who traps four squirrels a day and then does something that we could not contemplate. This however is an easy and harmless solution. The squirrels hate being shot at with water and they hate the peppermint oil smell which must be overpowering to their sensitive noses. Squirrel sitings are much reduced and for the past few days we have not seen any at all. We hope that birds and bulbs will be able to grow in peace and the squirrels can bury their monkey nuts elsewhere. Happy hunting.

I bought this for shooting squirrels. The distance from my living room window to the peanut feeder is about 3 meters. This just about reaches but with very little force left. The tree rats couldn't care less. I'm no wimp so I can only think Nerf has the incrdible hulk as one of their product testers as i can shoot water further by putting my thumb over a hosepipe.It also leaks through the orange cap as we found out after accidentally leaving it upside down in a bag of bird food. Not pleasant cleaning that up.Capacity is decent and it's nice and compact and it is accurate for at least 10cm. I've also kept it outside for almost a year and it's still fine so no chance of it biodegrading anytime in the next 1000 years.However, the kids woud have loved it if the squirels hadn't eaten them.

This is brilliant - bought to persuade our pooch to LEAVE THE BIRDS ALONE! I'd previously bought a less powerful version - a wimp by comparison - but had to upgrade. It is powerful but not in any way hurtful. He just gets a (very) wet bum. It has a long range and is very accurate. Alongside Beau's Bells (also available on Amazon and amazing) we've cracked it. No more casualties. We've been using it for weeks and it's still perfectly intact.

Good item - seemed to lose a little pressure after the first few uses. I swear it doesn't reach quite as far as it did when it was brand new - but don't get me wrong, it still works brilliantly. Doesn't leak when knocked over and has given us a lot of fun over lockdown

Would recommend it for younger kids as it is very easy to use. Some of the other super soakers are too big and cumbersome for a younger child to use effectively. The water tank isn't huge but it is a trade-off for ease of use. The actual gun is bigger than expected, from the images, you'd think it'd be a small pistol but it is quite substantial. Shoots quite far but of course not the full 11m or so as advertised. I can see this one being quite durable as the pump has no weak points, unlike other super soakers. Kids loved it!
