Logo Modernism

I am no logo designer but I do enjoy good design. I would recommend it if you particularly like minimalism, otherwise there might be better options these days.

Great book for ideas with endless simple logos to help for designs. Not a light book to carry around though

When the package arrived the weight suggested Amazon had sent me two books by mistake. They hadn't - this book is huge, getting on for A3 size with 430 pages with paper that feels like 170gm in weight. It's an in-depth look at logos from 1940 -1980. By in-depth we are talking about looking at logos by various category, for example: Geometric - angular, circular etc; Effect - cut-off, grid, reflection, rotation etc. Typographic - A-Z so logos that are based on letters A, B, C etc; opened up; logos with two or three letters, words. There are Profiles of famous designers as well as case studies of how a brand was implemented like Fiat and the Mexico Olympics 1968. The book design is clean and impactful and never interferes with digesting the information. I've bought books on logos before, but this one looks like being the book that renders the others redundant. A classic in the making. > I've added a CD to one of the images to give you and idea of scale.

The book is fantastic and worth the money. It’s a huge heavy book and although a niche interest for some; those that are interested won’t be disappointed. What I was disappointed in was Amazons packaging and care of such a great item. A massive box with no packing inside the book was all damaged. This is or was Amazons core business… books. Get a grip of what you do and quality of shipping. You can’t blame the courier if the item is not sufficiently packaged.

This is a massive coffee table book, well-designed with amazing content if you're a Graphic Design nerd. Came well packaged with no damage. The quality is fantastic as usual by Taschen. I'm thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and can highly recommend it.

This is a great logo resource which I would recommend to anyone interested in branding or logo research. The size is more like a coffee table book so harder to put in a book case so something to at least be aware of.

This book is great! If you're a designer looking for inspiration or someone who's interested in the changes between corporate identity between 1940 and 1980 then this is great for you! The only issue I have with the book is the lack of logotypes I see. I love logotypes and it's my main focus of work. Would love to have seen some other logo styles used! All in all a great book, it's huge and feels good to hold.

Just got my copy of Logo Modernism...this book is amazing! this is a fantastic huge brick of a book full of wonderful logo eye candy from 1940s-1980s. Jens Muller and R. Roger Remington have done an amazing job of presenting a fascinating collection of world class logos. Why this book is this cheap is completely beyond me! 10/10... buy now!!

Like others have said, this book is huge and heavy, I didn't measure it but it looks to be about 11x17x2. As a reference it is crazy good with tons of inspiring marks. It'll require a solid coffee table or bookcase and is a two handed carry. My kids (9 and 11) were as excited about the book as I was and after flipping through it for 10 minutes my 11 year old started trying to draw the ones that he liked without any prompting - I'd much rather have him doing that than asking to play video games : ). I teach high school graphic design and I know my students are going to love this book as well, it's just that good. Prime delivery = 2 days from ordering to the door. Nice!

It's a wonderful book, with tons of logos for inspiration and also we can learn a lot from this amazing Book !

This book should be in every Graphic artist arsenal. Showing the history of some of the most iconic logo designs in history. It will surely help you in your career.

A truly great book from Taschen. I cannot recommend it enough for any designer or creative, or even just someone who vaguely interested in the field. It's an excellent learning resource as well as a source of possible inspiration. Everything is printed on great quality and weight of paper, and the print quality is excellent. It's an absolute joy to browse. The whole book is laid out excellently, and is really easy to navigate. Unrelated to the contents and quality book itself, the corners of mine were a little bit smushed on delivery, so Amazon could do a better job at packaging these.
