Vax AP01 Air Purifier, White

Amazing product... Had it on for 4 days and opened it up... Was shocked to see the amount out cat hair inside... The out filter is black, my cat is white... It was chockablock with white hair, fluff and general dust... I have a cordless vacuum so I can honestly say I vacuum about 5 times in a day because I don't worry about plugging it in, unplugging something else as I move from room to room... I know my floors are clean, just didn't know the air in my house was so dirty. The fan does lower the temp of a room, so it can make the room a little colder in winter, but on max speed it should be great for summer... I have only used this item on speed setting 1 of 3 so far, because it's nearly silent... Locate it near a to n put it on speed one, you will not hear it.Not sure what the price is now, I paid £60 on here, AO.com is charging £100 and VAX.com is much much more...

Have been using two of these for 6 months after sending back a far inferior, infact next to useless, Prem I Air machine. These do a great job, you can tell the air is much clearer in our dusty house when they are used. Solidly built great touch controls, easy to operate. Min setting isn't super quiet but it's a non-invasive sound of airflow so I set it on the 2hr timer and can fall asleep no problem. When it's a hot time of the year the airflow cools the room too.

Been using this for a week now. I cannot say that I have noticed a difference in air quality but despite that the unit does seem to be doing it's job judging by the amount of crap caught in its filter in a week. (See pics).It's not as silent on the lowest setting as Vax makes it out to be in their description but that said it's not noisy either and I can sleep with it running all night. I would say it produces the same noise at low speed as that of a regular standing fan. This of course is subjective and will depend on what the user deems to be acceptable level of noise.This unit can also be placed flat rather than standing if this is more suitable for you.Replacement filters are a bit pricey at £30 a set at the time of writing this. Vax recommends that they are changed at 3 months (odour filter) and 6 months (Main filter)Overall I am satisfied with it and would recommend it.

This is a very small unit but very noisy even on fan speed one. Not much difference in room dust.

It arrived quickly and well packaged. I found it easy to use and on the medium speed the fan was acceptably quiet. On its first use I set the timer for 2 hours while my wife cooked some food. I found it good at removing odours and was at this stage pleased with it. After its initial 2 hours it turned off and I left it alone still plugged in to the mains (this is what would happen if you had it in your bedroom). After approximately 4 hours the air purifier suddenly started up on a fast fan speed which is noisy. I was puzzled as to why it should start up of its own accord so I tried to turn the machine off but to no avail and the only way I could stop it was by unplugging it from the mains.I am not convinced it is a safe product and have now returned it to AMAZON.

This is on constantly in baby's bedroom. He used to suffer from colds but since this has been used he's been doing great. There are 3 power settings: low-med-high. You can also set it on timer for 2-4-8 hours. You get replacement filters which we've used from Vax on Amazon too.As a bonus, this makes white noise when on so it's soothing for baby and helps with sleep - massive plus point for me!

AP02This works really well. It's actually amazing how much air it pushed through even on the lowest setting, you can feel it strongly blowing against your hand. However, this strength means it isn't super quiet. On the lowest setting it sounds similar to a fan heater, definitely not whisper quiet but quiet enough to sleep with it on. On the medium and high settings it's pretty loud. I wouldn't be in the same room with it on medium or high.You can see how much dust collects on the black filter and it's clear that it's working well.However. I really can't believe how much it costs. It's a plastic surround, a fan, a filter, and some buttons. I guess it's an economies of scale thing, probably far fewer of these are sold than normal fans, for example, but it's annoying to spend so much on what seems so cheaply made.

Had this roughly a month so far. Catches a lot of dust even on low setting and the fan noise isn't too bad. Medium and high settings are even better but that obviously comes at the cost of a higher noise level. For myself I use it in my bedroom and just have it on low - not too noisy but not quiet if your looking for super quiet. For myself it's more of a fan for some cold air with the added benefit of less dust being breathed in.It can be used standing up or you can lay it down. The are no buttons that stick out, they are all touch screen type and work fine so far. On/off, 3 fan speeds and a timer at 2, 4 & 8 hour.Easy removable lid at the push of two buttons to access the filter tray. The black filter seems like it's stuck to the white filter but it's actually held by four Velcro pads so you can just take it on and off to clean it which is great. I just give the air filter a hoover once a week as it's only for house/bedroom use.
