What hi-hat controller pedals are compatible with this product?

Hi, Alesis support here! SamplePad Pro is compatible with virtually any Hi-Hat pedal which utilizes a 6.35mm TS cable. Select "SWITCH" if you are using a standard footswitch. can this be used in garageband? can you simply plug it into a computer and use it that way? (sorry if this comes across as kinda stupid...)

Hey there. The pad has a standard 5 pin MIDI connection so to use it with GarageBand you need either a midi to usb converter or an audio unit with "midi in" connections. Being standard midi, and not USB, you need a device to get the midi data to GarageBand.

Does this power by USB or is the power supply required at all times?

Mains power is needed at all times.

does this let you use a click track?

Probably but haven't tried it. It has an input jack socket so you could connect to another machine. Personally, I'd save your money on this pad and go for the more expensive eight pad sampler which has more options. I go no more than about 50 hours of life out this particular pad before it gave up the ghost completely.
