Nikon D50 Digital Field Guide

I bought this used, absolutely incredible value, I believe the condition is better than advertised. Arrived sooner than promised

I was looking for a fairly advanced book on using my Nikon D50. This book may look small on the outside, but it is packed with advice, settings, sample pictures and some of the most creative digital ideas that I have run across. I have been taking photographs for years, but I learned more from this book than any I have ever read on the subject.It was written for the Nikon D50, but is applicable to any of the new digital SLRs.

Easily followed handbook for the Nikon D50. A great early digital camera which takes great photos.

I recommend this book to those who felt the manual that came with the camera was not enough. It covers everything that is in the manual with more detail and every page is in color as well. Along with the information on how to use the camera, it also gives you simple and basic information on how to take pictures explaining exposure, metering and more. Nice book to have around for beginners.

I actually received this book before I received my new Nikon D50. It was and continues to be a great asset. The learning curve on any new digital can be steep, but this book helps to make sense of all the features of the camera. Topics are easy to find, and just as easy to understand. I would recommend this to anyone who purchases this wonderful camera.

I ordered this book for guidance on my new D50 for an upcoming trip. I lost it in the airport, however I enjoyed what I had read so much that I purchased it again. It's a very helpful book with hands on information including: camera controls, working with light, photo subjects and lens selection. I would recommend this to anyone with a new SLR.

The D50 was my third DSLR after two Canons...a 10D and a 300D. I got this Nikon D50 and immediately liked it better than the Canons. So much so that I've already upgraded to a D70s, sold it and upgraded again to the D80. Now I'm looking for a good deal on the D300.But, back to the D50 Field manual (which I sold with the D50). Good book, clear text and nice slick pages and color photos. Sure it talks a lot to generic DSLR photography but it also addresses specific functions of the D50 in great detail. Did I like it ...yeah! How much? Well...I'm waiting for my D80 Field manual to arrive and if I ever get the D300, well I'll probably get a Field manual for it too!! This is a Good Buy!!!

I wanted to get something that really broke everything down and took it a step further than just how to use a camera, but how to make pictures great. This book does that, and it explains everything in a simple, easy to understand manner. Love it!

Model no longer made, but much more useful than D50 User handbook. If buying DC50 from eBay for a starter DSLR user this is a very useful companion. Still use it many years after purchase as a quick reminder.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading. As a D50 owner, a book like this is a gem for those who love their camera and don’t want to keep up with modern stuff, it’s comprehensible, obviously the author loves his camera too so you feel a kindred spirit. I have had mine many years and he has re-fired my enthusiasm for going deeper into the mechanics and experimenting.

His is a good book. It has a lot of good advice. Nothing spectacular. If you are new to photography, it is a good buy.

Got this guide when I brought my first SLR camera. It gave clear instructions, aided by clear photos, and was a very useful aid to learning what the camera could do.
