Only at the fuel pump is the blue flex line female connection 3/8. At the fuel pump, the blue flex line is 3/8 to accomodate the 3/8 barb coming out of the in tank fuel pump. Then the fuel line turns into steel line. The steel line turns back into blue flex line at the inline fuel filter but this blue flex line is 5/16. Ford reduces the blue supply line from 3/8 to 5/16 at the inline fuel filter. That is why the barbs coming out of the fuel filter are 5/16. We are no longer at 3/8. Sneaky Ford engineering!!!!!!!!!!!!
