Introducing Philosophy: A Text with Integrated Readings, Eleventh Edition, is an exciting, accessible, and thorough introduction to the core questions of philosophy and the many ways in which they are, and have been, answered. The authors combine substantial selections from significant works in the history of philosophy with excerpts from current philosophy, clarifying the readings and providing context with their own detailed commentary and explanation. Spanning 2,500 years, the selections range from the oldest known fragments to cutting-edge contemporary essays. Organized topically, the chapters present alternative perspectives-including analytic, continental, feminist, and non-Western viewpoints-alongside the historical works of major Western philosophers.

Book in order
The book came on time and is as expected. However, I have written Oxford U. Press to get the "Instructor's Manual": "The Companion Website includes all the material from the Instructor's Manual" -- but get a big run-around and no results. You have to have a login, and for some reason I can't log in (after 2 months of informing them).

Very Interesting!
I bought this textbook for my Philosophy 101 class this summer. And I was glad I purchased it (my college's bookstore tends to overcharge). The book comes with readings that I found to be intriguing and made me think. Not only did I enjoy this book, but I have come to love it because of my professor. Philosophy is already a hard subject as it is; the book made learning about philosophy easier. It breaks things down and makes it so that an average person can understand.

Exactly what I needed, when I needed it. It would have been great if the Professor told us the book for the class before the class started, but Amazon helped me make up for lost time. IT WAS PERFECTLY WHAT I NEED!

Interesting, not dry
As its name implies, it is an introductory textbook and therefore doesn't go amazingly in-depth on any one single philosophical view. However, the book is broken up into several different areas of philosophy, and in these areas it tries to include different viewpoints and perspectives on the issues for the chapter. The textbook is not dry at all, and the context it tries to provide for the included texts are very helpful to understanding the meaning and purpose behind the philosopher's ideas. If you have to purchase this textbook for a philosophy class, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Got the book for my class
For the seller, this was the book I was looking for and it came as described quickly and efficiently. For the person who is looking for a philosophy book that isn't required by a class, don't get this one. All the sources are jumbled together between the authors descriptions. The layout of the book is very poor and is littered with cheesy and often irrelevant pictures found on stockphoto.
