Will this fit a heritage 22 rough rider

It would be a very poor fit. The frames are just too different.

Can this holster be trimmed where the sights go? i have a s&w 629 44 mag with parallax sights and need a good holster.

Yes. I have a red-dot reflex sight in my 629, and I cut a section out of my holster. I used a fine toothed hacksaw blade, and sealed/stained the leather edges with 'super-glue'. It turned out great.
