Best Value 8" Tablet on the Market! (Nothing else Compares for the Price.)
Best Value 8" HD Tablet on the Market! 1) Excellent Build Quality all-Round, gives the impression you could drop this unit and it would take some abuse. Great for Kids? 2) Improved Performance mine has 2GB RAM, Quad Processor (2022 12th Gen) Android 9.. I also put a 128gb SD card in mine, simple to do I know have my personal media library playing on it, and it is crystal clear, very enjoyable. Performs pretty well on everything. Certainly for everything I have asked it to do. 3) Dolby Atmos Sound all beit two small speakers the Sound quality from Amazon Music and my SD Card through VLC are exemplory, Crystal clear for what it is. 4) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Functionailty was A1 Quite Brilliant. Once it knows your Boombar links straight to it each time when you want it. again given the Cost this is a superb Small Unit. DOWNSIDE? Not sure i would buy it if i was stuck with Silk Browser and just the Amazon Apps, Goodread, Audible, Amazon Kids etc...The first thing i do is put Firefox before doing any serious Web Browsing. Most secure and Independent Browser available - it is free also. It is really annoying Amazon that you cant uninstal Apps like any other App? that you wont need or use. Every User wants to Configure for their particular Preferences? - dont you Amazon People? STOP Stopping Customers from configuring it. If i was stuck with Silk Browser - A Major Security Risk online in this day and age. i wouldn't buy it. So apart from ending up with a dozen Apps i cant uninstall because i will never use them and they take resources they are parked on the Basement now cluttering the desktop - Annoying very!. Overall, in my opinion Buying this Tablet is a No-Brainer for £65 but you need a level of knowledge to set it up like any other Tablet in the Market! But, I give Total Credit to Amazon, their Hardware is Absolutely Faultess in Quality and Performance, i have found this across the board TV Sticks etc.... In my opinion if Amazon Product Team Opened their eyes and stopped making it just Amazon, (you say you put playstore on? I couldn't see it - but no real problem) then you have no Competition in value terms and it is Brilliant for kids - it cannot be beaten for price. The only other enhancement i would love to see would be a sim option to use outdoors. Really nice screen on my motorbike for the Sat Nav etc this would really open up the practical uses for it? it is definately durable enough to manage it well i am sure. That's it, just my opinion i hope it helps someone. Cheers Andy Watkins.

It's great
had it for several months (years?) and it's great. Bit difficult to read in bright sunshine when under the umbrella in the garden, but otherwise, it's great, esecially with the facility of going online too, like a small laptop or big phone.

Best buy of the year!!!!
Reasonably priced. Just the right size. You can change the size of font. You can add a sd card for more storage. Internet access. I paid a bit extra to be ad free. Well worth it. The only problem with that is, if you download games they always have adverts!! Great for audible off amazon. or Borrow box off your local library. This has been my best buy of the year.. I purchased it for the whole family, but its mine! You can also use it as a camera, lovely picture resolution. You can use ear phones, not included. Battery life is great. When it needs charging , if you forget, it will just stop working. I would have liked it in another colour. There are plenty covers you can purchase to protect it.

Three Years Later and Still Doing Its Job
I bought the 2022 Fire HD 8 in a Black Friday deal for about £42, which already put it in the “pleasant surprise” category. Three years later, it’s still going strong — which officially moves it into the “minor miracle” category. Performance is still decent, although it does feel a little slower than when it was new. That might be age, or it might be the steady diet of system updates Amazon keeps feeding it. It received another one just this past week, so clearly it’s still on someone’s radar. My main use is a dangerously addictive Scrabble‑style game, which it handles perfectly well. I also use it for light browsing with the stock web browser, checking emails (there’s even a version of Outlook, which works surprisingly well), and the occasional YouTube session. It’s not Android, but the Amazon Appstore is better supported than people give it credit for. It’s also surprisingly capable for AI chatbots like Gemini and… Auto-Pilot, I think? The one I supposedly use for memory training — though moments like this suggest it might not be working. For this sort of thing, the Fire HD 8 is more than fast enough, and it’s become my go‑to device for casual AI conversations. Battery life remains solid, and the 8‑inch HD display is perfectly fine for reading, browsing, and watching videos. USB‑C charging is a welcome improvement over older models. Looking back, my first tablet was an Asus EeePad TF101, which cost me over £400 and became very laggy after only a few years. By comparison, this Fire HD 8 has been inexpensive, reliable, and remarkably well‑behaved. For £42, it has delivered far more value than I ever expected. Overall, this tablet has been a quietly dependable workhorse. It won’t win any speed awards, but it does exactly what I need it to do — and it’s still doing it three years later. For the price, that’s hard to beat.

Great value for money
Very begrudgingly bought this kindle as Amazon stopped supporting my old kindle. Frustrating to say the least as it was in top condition. Nevertheless, this kindle is top notch. Small enough to feel comfortable and gives me the ability to read all kinds of books from novels to comics. Battery life is excellent and the settings for night time screen brightness are a marked improvement from my last kindle. Easy to set up as I was used to the interface but would say it can be a little hard to navigate if you’re new to them. Screen resolution is decent enough and I like the fact you can change the “paper” colour form white if you prefer to read with a different background. Does make a lot of noise though even when muted which is kind of irritating as it doesn’t let you know when. Defo worth purchasing one.

Simple, easy to sync. Good value for money.
Good quality, not so expensive tablet that does the job for most things you would need a tablet to do. Easily syncs with your other Amazon devices, with no issues. Looks good, sleek with an adequate screen size and decent battery life and accessoriws such as covers for it come in great colours. I would recommend paying a little more for the ad free version, as with the kindle devices, you get ads on the lock screen but they are rarely ever relevant to you and more of a minor annoyance.

Great value, limited usefulness
It's a shame that you can't easily access the Google Playstore to get the apps you want. There is a fix, downloading and installing some extra system files, but even then some apps will not work. I paid £50 (Prime special) for the 64gb version and at that price the limitations are acceptable. It's got a decent screen for viewing photos & videos. Sound is quite good. Response to touch is slow, a reboot is sometimes necessarily, battery lasts quite well.
