Yaheetech 64'' Open Top Bird Cage for Parakeets & Cockatiels, Black

I purchased this for my aunt and her finch, Nick Nolte. Full disclosure: my aunt had dementia, which led to one small issue that I feel is important to mention. This cage does not prevent birds from getting out if a determined human opens the door and releases them. I know. Shocking. Unfortunately, my aunt was firmly of the opinion that birds should be able to come and go from their home just like she came and went from hers. The cage was not designed to overcome that level of customer intervention. Think less "bird cage problem" and more "Free Willy, but in bird form." That said, the cage itself is fantastic. Assembly was straightforward. It took a little longer than 20 minutes, but not long enough to ruin a Saturday or make me question my life choices. The cage is sturdy, well-made, and honestly better quality than I expected for the price. The rolling stand works well, the wheels lock securely, and the slide-out tray makes cleaning easy. There are multiple doors, which makes feeding, cleaning, and rearranging things much easier than trying to reach through one tiny opening. The latches are secure, and I never worried about Nick Nolte figuring out how to open them. The bird wasn't escaping on his own. Any escape attempts required outside assistance. The bar spacing was excellent for small birds. I never had concerns about a finch getting his head stuck or squeezing through the bars. I'd be comfortable using this for finches, parakeets, cockatiels, lovebirds, and other similar-sized birds. I also didn't find any sharp edges or anything that concerned me during assembly or use. One thing I didn't fully appreciate until after it was set up was just how roomy this cage actually is. Nick Nolte was perfectly happy in it, but honestly, it was a lot of real estate for one tiny finch. Looking back, I think this cage would be ideal for multiple small birds. A pair would do great. Three or four small birds would probably enjoy it even more. Nick Nolte wasn't living in a bird cage. Nick Nolte was living in a gated community. The bird had room to fly, room to play, room to explore, and enough square footage to start judging the neighbors. Possibly more room than he knew what to do with. The open-top design is a nice feature, and the cage feels like it was actually designed by people who understand that birds occasionally enjoy having space to be birds. Most importantly, Nick Nolte seemed genuinely happy in it. And let's be honest, birds are not known for withholding their opinions. If they don't like something, everybody finds out. Five stars. The cage successfully contained the bird. It was significantly less successful at containing my aunt. I thought I was buying a bird cage. Apparently I purchased luxury bird real estate.

Really really great cage with lots of space. It’s pretty easy to build and everything feels sturdy. It looks really nice in my room. Not an eyesore at all. I love the shelf at the bottom it holds all of my birds things. Overall all really great pick!

We got this cage as a Christmas present for my 9-year-old daughter to get 2 parakeets. It assembled easily. The design is clever. I like the use of tension to keep portions of the cage together and open/close the doors. Also, I like that there are so many doors, and on the front there are doors within doors. For a cage this big, you need to be able to reach in easily to reorganize perches and access birds, so I was impressed. It comes with food trays for the birds, a tray underneath the cage for storage and cleaning trays to take care of bird waste. And a swing! The wheels are a great shape - completely round. Perfect for swiveling in short spaces (for sweeping, cleaning) without disturbing the birds too much, or for moving further, like room to room. I'm not going to say it's the thickest bar material, but it's plenty sturdy for the birds and probably contributed to the ease of assembly. It's nice that wide perches were provided, since those are probably harder to find. There is a shorter perch provided to prop open the top door of the cage. Honestly I don't see my daughter opening that door often since she is short. But it is an option, if that helps someone else. She used the shorter perch by placing it diagonally in a corner. Her 2 parakeets have so much space in there and room for several toys to keep their brains stimulated. I like that there are side doors. It's perfect for when she attaches a bird bath. Overall this cage is big, impressive (especially for the money) and appeals to my daughter's sense of organization. In fact she's the one who reminded me to leave a review :-P

I bought this cage for my Cockatiel and he seems to really love it. It's nice and tall with two large doors, perfect for hand taming but with plenty of little doors in case I need to get into the cage without letting the bird out. Plenty of room for his toys and building it in a way that he enjoys. My husband put the cage together and he said that it went together really easily, only took about half an hour. The only complaint is that the clamps that hold the cage to the stand cause the whole cage to lean, making the entire thing a bit un-sturdy. We wound up using zip ties to secure the cage so that it doesn't lean quite as bad. I don't really like that the clamps that hold the cage to the rolling base is a detachable piece. Other than that, it's perfect for what I need it for. I might suggest something a little bigger for anything larger than a cockatiel, or if you have more than one. Budgies/Parakeets would work well with this cage. The cage did come with a lot of extra's which is nice. I wound up removing a couple of the food dishes and taking out the bars on the bottom of the cage so my bird could pick through the food he throws to the ground.

I read a ton of the reviews about this bird cage before purchasing. The majority of negative reviews seemed to center on assembly and pieces not fitting together well. People had used zip ties to improve alignment of the top and bottom. Never the less, we moved forward and purchased the bird cage in white. We have two budgie parakeets who now call this home. We had no problem with assembly. All our pieces fit together perfectly. Nothing was bent or scratched. The 4 dishes, 4 perches, swing, tray and supply shelf all work as expected. The whole everything was a family experience and mostly a gift for our 7 year old who has learned how to use all the doors, including the top perch when she interacts with her pets. It is not the sturdiest cage on the market. I would be careful if you place this in a space not close to a wall for a sense of added support. That being said, if you wheel it from the base and not the cage frame, it rolls comfortably (not as if it could tip as you push). My criticism would be this: we purchased this thinking the height would give the birds more space to play. Later on we found out this is the opposite of the cage design you want for birds. Since they only prefer the topmost height accessible, it is better to have a shorter but very wide cage, allowing for maximum top height. So, in theory, this sized cage would be better laying on its back. Oh well. Lesson learned. All things considered- for $70- this is a wonderful parakeet cage for us to learn with. If I was in the market again, I would easily consider this one.

I have 4 parakeets, and wanted to upgrade to a bigger cage. I spent hours looking for the right cage and bought this one. It came in today and it is amazing! Pros: -Large amount of space. Even with 4 parakeets they still have a ton of space. -This cage comes with 3 perfect sized perches and 4 food and water feeders. Although I would recommend putting more perches and, stick perches from outside too, because it helps them stand easier and helps their feet. -This cage also came with a wooden swing. My parakeets aren’t really going on the swing because they’re distracted with other new toys, but it’s cool that it comes with the cage. -Cage was pretty easy to assemble. I saw some other reviews saying it wasn’t, but it was actually pretty easy to put together. It took me about 10-15 minutes. -Easy to clean. At the bottom of this cage it has a tray that comes out of the cage, so you can clean it. -At first i was worried about the cage having vertical bars, but my parakeets love them. They keep sliding down them, and they find them fun. -This cage has 2 big doors at the top and bottom to get birds in and out of the cage. -The stand for the cage is great! It’s really tall. This is perfect to hold bird food and cage cleaning supplies. Cons: -This isn’t as wide as I would like it to be. Although this cage is perfect. Its also taller than I thought it would be. -This is an easy fix, but the food and water door openings can easily come open. I would recommend putting a pin or something to keep it closed. -Stand is a bit wobbly. I wouldn’t put the cage on the stand, but I would put it beside it. I would definitely give this cage 5 stars. I recommend this cage more than any of the others.

I had to rehome a couple of parakeets and needed an inexpensive cage. This one was an OK choice. For some reason there are a rediculous number of doors of ever size that have wire latches. The instructions were typical, poorly written and confusing. The cage itself was functional but extremely cheap and flimsy. While ok for parakeets, I wouldn't use it for a larger bird who could easily destroy it.

This is actually a late review. I purchased this a year ago and I could say that the cage is worth to buy. Until now the cage is in good condition and my cockatiel is loving there home. They can move freely and they really enjoyed playing inside the cage. This items is highly recommended.

It's good and the budgie loved it. We added some extra wood and it's all good.

Cage extra pratique avec ses multiples portes, grandes et petites et son toit ouvrant. J’adore la façon dont les mangeoires ont été conçus. Elles tiennent très bien en place sans avoir à forcer pour les enlever et les remettre. De plus, elles s’enlèvent par la porte sans qu’on ait besoin de mettre la main dans la cage. Les dimensions de la cage sont très raisonnables pour une ou deux perruches, les pinsons et autres petits oiseaux. Peut convenir pour un inséparable qu’on laisse en liberté la plupart du temps mais trop petit pour deux. Assez facile à assembler, barreaux qui ont l’air un peu fragile mais pour le prix, la qualité est acceptable. Le support à roulette est très pratique et roule bien. Très bon achat.

I was quite hesitant getting this product after some bad reviews. But it was urgent so I decided to get it anyways. I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to assemble and was done in 30 min. My bird seems quite happy, and the storage space below is great to keep everything together.
