A varifocal USB camera. It arrives with 3m of cabling and can film in very high resolution in extreme close up. Highly effective, highly adjustable, and competitively priced in it's field.What these are designed for is industrial and medical use, to film close ups of say, surgical procedures and and send them into virtual learning spaces.They aren't a lot of use for Zoomers, Youtubers, Tiktokers and the like for various reasons. The most obvious one is they don't have a microphone: and they aren't really ideal for the typical 18" viewing distance of a Zoom call, and they need to be focussed by hand: So you would need, initially, at least, to have someone set this up with you in the viewing area to use it has a social media/Zoom camera. And the microphone.They don't come with any kind of method to attached them to a screen either, because, to labour the point, they aren't designed for that. So you'll need to buy a tripod as well. However the listing here quite clearly shows these cameras photoshopped into being used for Zoom conference calls, somehow perched on the top of monitors and without a mic in sight. That's tantamount to a con.My guess is that the industrial camera market is exhausted, and someone's had the bright idea of trying to flog em off as webcams. But don't be fooled.

This is definitely most advanced “webcam” i have used ever. To be fair, I wouldn’t even call it webcam. This has purely industrial design and purpose, not many people gonna buy it to speak with grandmother over skype.I immediately set it up for my time lapse machine which runs windows. It was plug and play device, no extra drivers needed.This camera is fully manual which means you have to manually adjust distance zoom, focus, brightness. You do it by rotating rings on lens of the camera. Once in desire position you can twist screw to lock position and make sure it stays like you want it. This is great feature.Camera have superb quality on 4k resolution. Very sharp and clear image. Fairly good lens 5-50mm with enough zoom. One downside, when zoomed around 25mm-50mm and adjust focus there is very narrow focus point which means everything around centre of camera is blurred. Only middle section is in focus. But this is specification of this camera so no big deal. Awesome performance on tripod. Bit expensive but this is 4k camera in fully aluminium housing so price is justified. Very pleased with it.

Well machined with a solid build, excellent dampening on the lens’s focus, zoom and aperture adjustment.As a standard web cam, this would be a waste of it’s potential, but if this is being used to record close up work like model building or painting, watchmaking or similar type of work, this is excellent.The 5 – 50 mm zoom lens comes with 3 adjustment rings of which 2 can be locked with a small screw. The aperture I would say is around f 4 but it’s hard to gauge as nothing in the documentation tells you what it is. It uses the standard Sony half inch sensor that’s in everything these days and it’s not bad at face recognition.I could record objects as close as a few millimetres away from the lens and although not quite full Macro it does a good job of getting super close up to objects – it’s 1:1.6 and the detail at 4K is lovely, it’s not going to replace a professional camera but it’s superb at what it does.It’s very decent in low light and when stopped right down it lets in a decent amount of light but if you are recording close up work, you’re going to want some form of light as the stills are pretty noisy even when I opened up the lens fully.For nature enthusiasts this would be great to set up on a bird box and get some close-up video work but for that, you’re going to have to put in a bit of work with raspberry pi, a motion detector and a bit of programming knowledge, otherwise if you can run the USB lead straight to your computer and you could monitor from afar, the cable supplied is a good 3 meters but you could extend this.Over all this is a very niche piece of equipment, and very specialist, not for your everyday web cam capture but definitely for working close in and for that purpose I can recommend it.

I don't currently have a true white photo light so I can't show the images to the best of its abilities but this camera is extremely good for the size of it.The photo I included gives you some indication of the cameras quality when taken using Windows built in camera app. Bare in mind this is made to be a webcam and not a photography camera so the quality isn't the best in the world but for what it is, this thing does an awesome job of picking up detail. It would definitely do a good job as a camera for skype, streaming, reviewing, zoom calls and recording around the house in good lighting.Pros:The 10x optical zoom allows you to get up close to the subject. Manual focus also gives you the perfect amount of sharpness and detail when correctly set.The colours are quite closely matched to real life though it is lacking somewhat in comparison to a REAL video camera. - See third picture of a remote and all the other things I had laying around my desk. This should give you some idea of how the colours look. Again, my main issue here is the lighting I have available to me, they just don't do it justice.This camera does have exposure control through the openable and closeable lens adjusting ring. This is useful for lowering the exposure when recording in extremely bright areas such as near a window with the sunlight shining through or increasing the exposure for other areas such as indoor with just ceiling lights.Plug and play - The driver installs without the need for any additional drivers in Windows 10. I can't speak for other operating systems as I haven't tried on them at this time.A mic is included with this webcam so you could get away without wearing a headset for streaming webcam and talking to people.4k resolution means when the image is full screened, it doesn't have any jagged edges and remains sharp around the edges.It's simple to use, there are instructions included in the box, as you can see from the photo but I really don't see anyone needing to read them. It really is as simple as plug in and load up the program you intend to use it on.Cons:There is one issue I have found and that is, when you twist the lens focus, exposure and zoom adjusters, it has a tendency to unscrew the lens itself. You have to tighten it as much as you can to be able to turn them while leaving the lens in place. Also, to turn the zoom and focus rings you have to unscrew a little pin. I could untighten these by hand but it did take a little effort to loosen them first.I can without recommend this webcam without a second thought. It's great for beginners to streaming and if you overlook the lens coming loose when using the adjustment rings, it's a great webcam, review cam and digital camera for low pace stills. I don't think it would be any good to capture high speed movements though as it only gives out 30fps at 4k.
