Pelican Shield iPhone 14 Pro Max Case - Rugged MagSafe Phone Case - Black

This is also a very late review as I have had this case for three years now, and for all this time, it has protected my phone from numerous drops without fail. The protection is solid and one of the best you can get in my opinion. Finally, recently, my phone experienced a drop at work (I do warehouse and construction), and while my phone survived without a scratch, the top layer of the case finally broke from the impact and it wouldn't snap in place securely. Sure enough, embossed on the inner side of the back layer of the case is their warranty slogan "If you break it, we'll replace it, forever." I've always been skeptical about any of these kinds of claims but with nothing to lose I contacted Pelican/Case-Mate about it and submitted a claim, and within 24hrs, they approved it and sent me out a replacement as soon as the next business day. They are indeed true to their word - great company to deal with.

Since it hasn't been very long since the release of iPhone 14, there is limited selection (compared to, say earlier models) of strong and sturdy cases in the market. I literally tried at lease 7-8 different cases only to find them subpar and underwhelming for the worry-free protection I was looking for....until I actually held this case in my hands. I was instantly impressed with the build quality, material strength, protective and accessibility features of this case. This case gives a VERY strong envelop of protection from all angles and possible accidental drops while looking stylish at the same time. It does have "edgy" teeth on all four corner curves on the front side which can feel pokey on fingers while handling the case but I know they are a protective design feature and worth the "worry-free" protection the case offers. Overall, a very strong case! Worth the investment!

Lasted 20 days ! I like the case but the clip fell apart in my hand today, this is my second pelican phone case and the first fell apart within 2 days. Please provide more quality equipment. Maybe let otter box make your clips!

This is my 2nd purchase my first case took a beating and my phone was good as new after each fall. I’m a trucker and I’ve dropped this case from the top of my truck it bounced took some damage on the edges and protected my phone each time. Highly recommend

I was not impressed upon first opening the product, there is no rubber membrane incorporated into this case. With that being said it’s sturdy and solid. Figment is perfect and it’s near seamless with my spigen glass screen protector. The side latches clip soundly and the feel of the buttons are perfect! I didn’t like the charging port at first but it’s grown on me. What really sold me is the styling of the back plate. There is a flaw to be pointed out: the front screen has good depth within the case. While the rear facing cameras have VERY shallow depth! The bezel is hardly raised past the camera lenses. My concern is that when a lens protector is installed on the camera lenses the protector will likely make contact with what ever surface you place the back of the phone on! Another flaw is that the case is smooth, meaning it has no grip, no rubber, not even indents or markings to help grip the sides. This is not beneficial for grip but does allow the phone to enter and leave your pocket without difficulty. I’m pleased with the product thus far, although I have yet to drop it. You can find videos on YouTube of the pelican shield being dropped 20ft in tests on iPhone 12 (phone survived without noticeable damage). I would take this case over the otter box, lifeproof, griffin, ghostek, catalyst, urban armor, and any other mediocre case. More protection at a better price point and a lifetime warranty.

I know this is late for a review. I’ve had this case for 3 years on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. It has been warranty replaced 3 times by Pelican. It has saved my phone each time. The case is a little bit bulky but it’s a small price to pay for the protection. When I do get a new phone I will definitely be buying another pelican case. I have used other other brand cases and none have lasted or even came close to this. I work in a shop all day so my phone takes a beating. But once the case is off it looks new. Worth the money.

Great looking phone case. It’s very utilitarian if you like that sort of thing. You can tell it’s high end. Has a very professional look especially on the back where the Kevlar is. The only downside is that it does actually pick up a lot of fingerprints. Wish it didn’t do that. But you can’t really tell from most angles that the back is all greasy from use! Easy to put together but there’s a cover over the lock button. Not sure why that is. Gotta undo it and then close it every time I use Apple Pay OR stick your finger in the little hole that is has that is supposed to allow access to the lock button which can be a little uncomfortable like a small pinching feeling every time you put ur finger through the hole to press the lock button, and not to mention very annoying, unlessthere’s another way to do Apple Pay. It’s not terribly irritating because the cover is high quality and opens and loses with a nice “click” sound. This cover is also over the volume buttons, but you can actually use those buttons like normal.

This was my first Pelican phone case. I've known and used other Pelican products for decades now. So it seemed like a no-brainer to get a phone case. Pros: Brand Name. Quality design and materials (sort of). Protection. Ease of install compared to others. Charge port cover. Wireless charging. Cons: read below The power button rubber cover is quite large. I was constantly turning off my phone or taking screenshots unintentionally. My solution was to carefully remove the button cover itself and trim it in half. That has helped a lot. Now, it sits flush with the case body and I only press it intentionally. Sure, it's recessed compared to what it was, but for a tactical-minded case, it should be sleek. Slicker than snot. The case is robust and has a good drop rating and all that. It's larger, but doesn't have unnecessarily large corners like some do to get that drop rating. It's very proportionate. But, the plastic/rubber on the edges is completely smooth like cheap plastic. It slips out of my hands frequently. Not only are the sides smooth, the back of the case is like butter. Supposed carbon fiber-look back (or maybe it IS carbon fiber) was so smooth, I had to put grip tape on it to keep hold of it. With the back covered in grip tape and the sides becoming more slick with use, I can still barely keep my phone in one hand. Still has very minimal protection for camera lenses. While it's overall protection is great on the sides, the protection of the camera lenses was an obvious afterthought. I expected much better from the brand I know for superior industrial cases. Of course, you can't please everybody. But perhaps just try to please your known customer base. Live and learn

I love Pelican products, have used them for 30+ years for my job. Had the old shield case for my iphone 11 which was the best thing I ever got for it, really well designed and tough as nails, loved it. So I get this new one for my iphone 14. This new one is absolutely a disaster. What the hell were they thinking? It's an embarrassment to the Pelican name. The buttons used to be built into the edges of the frame, now they are flimsy bits of rubber that fit loosely into slots in the clips. They fall out every single time and are impossible to get back in their slots. I don't understand what they were thinking. This thing is a total fail.

Case received heavy damage as a result of tradeswork. It will keep your phone safe, however the case is in very poor condition after just two weeks of use.

数回落としました。 歩いてる時や走ってる時ポケットから落下 シャーと転がったり、ドンとコンクリートや、アスファルトにレンガの道に落としても iPhoneは問題無く本体に傷も付かずにホットした事が何度か、もちろんケースは傷ついたり、小さな凹みができたりしました。 パッと見は全然分からない感じです。 とても信頼できるケースと思い。 今使っているiPhoneは長く使う予定なので、セール時に同じケースをもう一つ予備として買ってしまいました。 不便な所は少し重くなる事位 パッと見、iPhoneの種類が他の人は 分かりずらい所ぐらい(私はそこも良いと思います。職場でiPhoneと気付かれる迄１年位かかりiPhoneとバレました。) 後は 他の色が無くて個性を出せない所です。 女性はかなり抵抗あるゴツさと思う でも、 リピ買いしたくなる程の良い製品 ブランド、所有感だと思います。
