A Frame Chalkboard by HBCY Creations: 40x20 Solid Wood A-Frame Sign Robin Blue Double-Sided Magnetic Board, Chalkboard Menu Board, for Restaurants, Cafés, Weddings - Heavy Duty Hinges

We used this for our business for a few months and encountered several issues:1) the writing surface warped and started separating from the backing2) the surface marred with the weather such that it has become impossible to erase the markerIt just did not hold up to the outdoors the way that we had hoped. It looks nice for using indoors but not suitable for outdoors.

I am not one to ever write reviews, but I felt like I had to share. I absolutely love the product, but love Nick B and this company even more. I ordered a chalkboard and it was delivered with a pretty noticeable scratch in the top piece of the wood. I contacted Nick and HBCY Creations letting them know that I really was satisfied with the chalkboard but disappointed it got delivered with a scratch and if there was anything they could to do to send out a new one. Nick emailed me back in the same day apologizing about the defect and let me know that he already processed a replacement order that would arrive in 3 days. He also told me to keep my original chalkboard and to not worry about returning a bulky item since that would've been a hassle for me (which was super nice)! Moral of the story is that this company has terrific customer service, it was so easy on my part and hassle-free to get a new chalkboard. I will most definitely be ordering from HBCY Creations again. Highly recommend this product and company!!

We had such high hopes for this chalkboard, however it hasn't withstood the test of time. I have included before and after pictures. We put it out on the highway beginning March 8, 2020 ... Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday from Noon to 3 p.m. It is never put out in the rain. Sadly, it is falling apart. My grandson tried to "save" it by screwing the front to the back, rather than the "sandwich." As others have mentioned, the "bubbling" occurred almost immediately ... very warped (see after pic). Also had trouble with the markers, and as another commented, there was no stencil for the alphabet, so I used the "word" stencils to make the words I needed. If there wasn't a letter available, I had to make my own. It looked really cute when I put it out the first day, however, the colors began to fade ... so after 4 months, I tried to "erase" and start over, but could not get it to erase! I even used a high pressure nozzle via garden hose on the back deck! The word "pantry" was the most faded, so I tried to bring it back by making it green rather than the super faded orange. Hence, you can understand my disappointment. What I really wanted was a simple old fashioned blackboard w/chalk and an eraser. Still searching ...

Used this to create a sign for my wedding. Hand wrote on one side about choosing a seat not a side, then on the other side about documenting people’s drunken shenanigans. I used liquid chalk because plain chalk didn’t show up well. Overall the quality of the sign wasn’t great (thus the 1 star reduction), but it worked well for what I needed. My biggest complaint would be that the chalkboard part is just painted on, so the liquid chalk stained it. After the wedding I tried to remove the chalk so I can reuse the sign, but there will certainly always be a shadow of the wedding signs on it. I’m pretty confident that new liquid chalk on top would be fully legible, but it will still be hanging out in the background. Overall, the sturdiness of the sign seems pretty good and we had no problems with it falling over during the ceremony or reception. Good value for the price, especially compared to other options.

So not only is this a-frame chalkboard beautiful, the customer service with this company is phenomenal.I ordered the a-frame, liquid chalk pens, and restaurant stencils all from HBCY Creations. The next day I received an email from the company (not amazon) saying they received my order and if there were any problems at all to reach out.My packages arrived right on time and I opened them up. The chalkboard a-frame is so incredibly well made and just gorgeous. Down to the oiled bronze small HBCY metal plate on the front and matching metal chains between both sides. Very high quality product and STURDY. I flipped the board over and it had what looked like a metallic mark on the chalkboard - like something had rubbed against it in transit. It was close to the side of the board near the wood frame but still noticeable.I emailed Nick (the one who reached out after I ordered) and just asked if there was something I could use to buffer it or diminish the appearance. He responded the same day and not only expedited a BRAND NEW a-frame free of charge, but told me to keep my original because he didn’t want me to deal with the hassel of boxing it up and returning it! The “damaged” frame is still completely useable just has a cosmetic defect.I am blown away by the incredible products I ordered (the chalk pens are AMAZING), but am also a customer for life with their phenomenal customer service.Love this company, love their products, and WILL be ordering again.

Delighted!Rustic Magnetic A-Frame Chalkboard Sign/Extra Large 40" x 20" Free Standing Chalkboard Easel/Sturd...This is exactly the look I wanted. I looked and looked for a brown wood look, this is it!Is not real wood, so is perfect weight to carry out to the curb. Easy to handle. Will be weather proof.I bought the chalk that goes with this SIGN, I am so pleased! Impressive appearance.The only think I would add is,I wish the manufacturer would make an additional size exactly like this one, taller and wider.Taller and wider would be great, but definitely would like wider for big lettering outside on a curb.I am so pleased. I highly recommend.Important note: TUMBS UP to this manufacturer, These are the ONLY A-Frame sandwich chalkboard street signs I could find that come in this look and made out of these perfect materials.I searched and searched for hours and hours, this is as wide as they come.

2nd review. From May to July these signs have not lived up to what was expected. Will not stand up to any damp weather at all, we have several of these signs and ones that have never had a drop of rain on them are doing OK but not standing up to being moved daily. We don't leave them in the rain but even a few drops of water on them before they are moved inside causes them to fall apart. THESE ARE DEFINATELY NOT MADE FOR THE OUTDOORS. I would not recommend if they are being used in a high traffic area or being moved daily.

Ordered this blackboard after researching *many* different a-frame/sandwich board options. Was a little sceptical considering it's RIGHT down the bottom of what I was seeing as a 'normal' price range. So happy with it! Delivery was incredibly quick, quality is amazing, it's heavy duty (not flimsy), doesn't feel like it'll blow over in the wind, beautifully made and bigger than expected. Exactly what I was after for a fraction of the price I was seeing elsewhere. THANK YOU. (Image is the board against a large backpack for comparison).

We order the chalkboard because we needed a sign board for outside our new ladies fashion store ( Sweet Closet) in Davenport Street Southport Gold Coast. The design matched our interior which is a shabby chic design.The sign arrived within two days and there was a nice Thank You card inside. I was really impressed by the quality of the product and it was great value for money. If you're looking for something similar I highly recommend HBCY creations.

I bought this sign to put outside on the sidewalk in-front of my business. It was only outside for about a week and the chalk film started to warp and bubble. The weather has been very beautiful with no rain at all. Not good.

Great product. It is nice and sturdy and looks awesome. I haven't "officially" used it yet as it is for a surprise baby shower but the kids and I have had a lot of fun just drawing pictures and having fun on it. I am very happy with this product and would recommend to anyone who needs this product.
