Very comfortable right out of the box!
This shoe fit just right and was comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them to hike about 25 miles so far and thus far the durability has been good.

good overall
Lightweight, rugged, but the sole is not as padded as I would prefer. Took it out hiking on Nimitz Trail near Berkley, Worked fine, just wished it had more cushion so I bought some inserts. I bought this knowing it was not the waterproof version and there are two kinds of the Moab2 so don't let the reviews throw you off as some may have not researched enough on this model.

Best day hiking boot I've ever had - No break-in needed!
The overall fit of this shoe was just perfect for my foot. They were not too rigid around my ankles (a common problem for me), and the shoe was flexible and yet still very supportive. The only negative I have personally is with the insole which I felt could use some additional arch support, so I took out those that came with the shoe and replaced with a better insole from Dr. Sholls.I usually start wearing a new hiking shoe in my neighborhood while taking my dog for walks to break in the shoe before attempting any kind of distance. With these, after just two basic walks, I was out on day hikes right away. Finally, I have large ankles and often struggle with Merrell walking shoes, but these opened wide and were very easy to get on/off. I highly recommend them.

great shoes
run a tad small, but I think they will streach as not that tight and I have worn them, but not for long. So am keeping.

Comfortable & Good support
I walk a couple of miles every morning and had been wearing the low Merrill day hikers. They were the only footwear I found comfortable but they would wear out in just 6 months. These taller Merrill hikers are a little stiffer but I think they will last longer. They are pretty comfortable and not overly heavy. I bought the wides and am glad I did.
