Very bold and visible
These are the best and boldest dry erase markers I have been able to find.

Bright and easily readable.
Colors are bright and durable; ink goes on smoothly and leaves clean lines. Although they are "dry-erase," some colors don't always clean off completely and need an occasional spray, especially when left on the board for more than a few days.

Expo Markers Hold Nothing Against These
As an engineering graduate student, I use whiteboards at least 25 hours per week. Since I have so much to fit on a board at once, I commonly use the finest dry erase markers so that I can compact my work. The fine tipped Expo markers I have been using would stop working if left uncapped for much more than a minute, and the tip would fray and grow wider with use. Their newer models were somewhat better by reducing tip fray, but they would still degrade fairly quickly.I purchased these after running into the chisel tip version, and won't go back to Expo for a long time. They don't dry out anywhere near as quickly, and the tip feels quite a bit more solid and unlikely to fray. The non-cylindrical cap which prevents rolling away has also come into quite handy, something I didn't realize was a bother until the Quartet markers fixed it.If you use dry erase boards with any frequency, I recommend that you at least try these, I don't think you'll ever regret it.

I have very mixed feelings about these markers
My only complaint is that I wanted a *fine tip* marker that I could use to write on a home calendaring system used on my refrigerator. These markers are not "fine tip" enough for my needs.I was originally going to leave a 3, because the size issue essentially means that the pens are unusable for my original purpose. I've decided to change it to a four because perhaps I should have been looking for an "ultra fine tip" rather than a "fine tip" marker. But I think that the burden should be on the seller to make such matters clear, rather than on the customer. The ink is vibrant, and shows up nicely. The black and the blue pens erase very easily, the red comes off but takes much more work to remove, and the green is somewhere in between. As a dry-erase marker, they are a very nice product I think. Hence four stars.

Much better than Expo
These markers are much better than Expo markers. I've used Expo markers for years, because my company stocks them in the office supplies room and because local office supply stores only carry Expo. But we needed an extra white board in our hallway and didn't have time to wait for budget approval so some folks ordered one out of pocket and got some of these EnduraGlide markers.I'm astonished by EnduraGlides, compared to Expo markers:1. The cap actually snaps on the end and stays in place (much better than the Expo pressure fit with fragile little fins).2. You can actually see how much ink is left, and you can tell whether it *should* be failing to write, or just crapped out before its time.3. The colors are bold and the ink flows freely (just the right amount, not too much).4. The ink doesn't dry out when you leave the cap off for a few seconds (*sigh at Expo*). So far in two weeks of frequent usage I haven't seen the ink dry out ever with the Quartet EnduraGlide markers. It's so nice not having your train of thought interrupted every few minutes by yet another round of mortal combat with a cranky pen.

Best whiteboard markers I've tried
These are so much smoother and more reliable than the Expo dry erase markers I'd been using before this. Every marker in the pack works great, gives smooth clear lines and keeps up even if I'm writing fast. They also eraise very well, I've not needed to use any whiteboard spray to clean up after them.

Get it for interviews.
I did interviews at Google Mountainview, and brought these puppies with me (all 4 colors). They asked me a series of questions and I had to whiteboard the answers. Beforehand, I'd been practicing at home with these, color coding all sorts of things on the board like search algorithms, sorting algorithms, OO design problems, etc. These glide nicely, don't dry out easily, are very very ergonomic (no more giant Expo marker between my fingers!), and have great contrast with white. They write more like a gel pen than normal whiteboard markers, and smear a little worse too, but that's fine. Anyway, they performed great, and I think the interviewers were A) impressed I brought my own markers, and B) impressed with the different colors I used for different tasks. I received a job offer, and I attribute a bit of that to these markers. Get them!

The best dry erase markers I have used
I don't know if all dry erase markers have gotten this good, but these are really good! The colors are bright, the writing is solid. And best of all, these wipe right off even after weeks on a surface, with no ghosting. It's like the ink dries up quickly so it doesn't get absorbed into the surface, and instead it just stays on top.The thickness of these markers are also nice, they are comfortable in the hand.
