High quality cable that connects backup drives over long distances
Honestly, I had low expectations for this cable when I purchased it. I was looking for a very long USB cable that would allow me to place a backup disk drive about 30 feet away from my Mac in a cabinet. Because USB cables typically have length limitations much shorter than 30 feet, I was skeptical about this cable length of nearly 50 feet -- and it was one of the shorter lengths offered. Then, I noticed that this is actually a fiber cable with modems at both ends, meaning this cable can go for some pretty extended distances as it is no longer bound by the electrical limitations of USB-C. So I purchased it with crossed fingers.Up receiving it, I was quite surprised. The build quality is absolutely superb. In fact, I think this is the highest quality cable in my entire cable inventory, based upon fit and finish. This cable is heavy, stout, solidly constructed, and oozes with quality. They even ship it with removable plastic covers over the USB connectors. Just holding the thing, I get a sense that I received value for the high price paid. Upon trying the cable over the distance, I found that it performed at the promised rate (> 10 Gbps) and that my backups were progressing very well and without issue. I can't speak to reliability yet, but I fully expect to get a good and long life out of this investment. For my use case (long distance USB-C run for disk backup), I received great value for the high price of the cable. I'd buy it again in a flash, and likely will given that I've got a couple of other long runs that I need to make as I continue to shuffle equipment around my office. Great stuff. Five stars!

working great with powered anker hub at the end.
Seems very well made, no issues with using with a powered anker hub at the end. So far so good

Great cable
We upgraded our meeting room interactive display this week and decided to use a USB-C cable as the main connection since it supports touch functionality and AV extension in a single cable. What a great connector! We ordered this 33ft USB-C cable, and so far, it has been working flawlessly. It's a solid cable.

Doesn't work when connected to a usb hub/switch
This is the second optical usb cable I tried and neither worked as advertised. I needed a longer usb cable to connect a couple of HID to my computer. The devices HIDs , keyboard/mouse/10 key pad so none are high demand item and are perfectly happy with USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1. The HIDs are connected to a locally powered hub/usb switch so power is not the issue. Once worked with a single device but not with the hub in line. I tried this directly and also via a 10 ft usb cable (usb c-c a-c) and both work fine. I also have it working via a cable creations 16 ft cable and that works fine but it doesn't work with the fiber usb cable. So something with these cable wont allow a hub on the "device" end.

Update not so great - Working ok at 10GBs for tethered shooting with the Canon R5
Update March 2024 - I've also ordered two Plenum rated cables for testing on two separate occasions and each time the wrong cable was sent. Have yet to receive the correct one.Update a few weeks later and after buying over a dozen of them. Lots of intermittent usb connection issues in the M1 Mac Studio. Works better than the USB A version. The new big issue of the USB C version over the A version is that the end of the cable gets damaged much more easily than the A version. The C connector needs to be heavier duty so that it doesn't bend and get damaged. The casing for the connector is just press fit and does not really support the connector much. It doesn't snap together or use glue to hold it together.Update a week later after running these cables in 9 photo bays. Went from 5 stars to 2 stars. These are working better than the USB A version of this cable but we have still run into sporadic issues and in one photo bay it's a big struggle to get these working, Ended up having to switch out to a standard USB C 15' Tether tool extension to get things working. The Tether Tool connected instantly and stayed connected while this fiber cable would connect when first plugged in but disconnected the second a picture was taken on the Canon R5. We've spent many thousands on the usb a and usb c version of these cables and it's disappointing that we are having so many issues.Using these cables in a studio space of over a dozen M1 Mac Studio computers and Canon R5s. We were using this same brand's USB A optical cable with the R5 for the last 8 months or so without issue but all of the sudden all of the usb A versions stopped working for tethered shooting. We have no idea why and are thinking that apple changed something with their USB management that killed them. Switched to the usb C version for the last couple of days and so far they are all working perfect.
