KF CPTEC Wire Crimping Tool Kit, 5PCS, AWG 22-8, Tool-Free Quick-Swap Dies

I'm a home user but wanted a tool that would do a nice solid crimp. My old crimp tool was one of those cheap things that comes in kits, even decades ago. They were cheap and flimsy. Anyway, I bought both the 5 and 6 piece kits. I needed the 5 piece for the larger yellow connectors for 10 and 12 gauge wires. So far I've only used the tool from the 5 piece kit but they seem to be the same but with different jaws. I needed to crimp several 12 gauge wires and a couple 16 gauge wires. Both ended up with nice crimps. It crimps both the electrical and mechanical in one operation. I tried pretty hard to pull the wire out of the connector and it wouldn't budge. I left the adjustment like it was from the factory. I figure it would at least be a good starting point. I used a couple older and thinner yellow connectors and some newer more heavy ones. It did a nice crimp on them both. I was going to take pictures but I forgot to take them before I put the heat shrink on. The next time I crimp some, I'll try to take pictures and update this review. The one thing I find odd, I think they put the foam in the little case backwards. Given the way the case closing snaps work, I have to turn it upside down before opening the case. It's so odd, I put a sticker on the top so I don't open it the wrong way. The foam is tight enough that nothing falls out but I figure with time, it will loosen a bit and things could fall out. May as well mark the top so I open it the right way. I was going to try to remove the foam inserts but they appear to be glued in pretty well. I don't want to tear them up when all I have to do is flip it to make it work. It could be they intended it to work this way but it appears weird to me.

I bought this for a specific project, but now use it regularly. It works well, much better than struggling with the crimp function built into my cheap wire strippers. The carrying case has foam cutouts for the jaws up in the top half - which is silly because they fall out. I made new cutouts in the bottom half of the case. There was plenty of room do to so in this 5pc version. The smallest jaws for the insulated lugs don't crimp as tightly as I'd like on 22 gauge wire, so I just use the jaws for uninsulated lugs instead. Finding the right position took a little trial/error, but now that I know which works best, it works fine. The ratchet release lever is handy if you want to reposition the lug before a final crimp. So far, I'm happy with this tool.

I got it to use on heat shrink connectors and bare connectors. Heat shrink connectors have to be right size for the wire or they will pull out since it only crimps so much. It's not horrible but a light pull test helps before you pull it all the way apart and can't get the wire back in scrapping a connection. I cut out the part with jaw labels and taped it to the top of the box.

Crimps electrical wire terminals without damaging the insulation on the terminals making it great for terminals with shink tubing ,to keep it waterproof .

Going from those old pressed steel wire cutter crimpers to these is mind blowing. Those old wire cutter stripper crimpers never gave a good solid crimp and it would usually mangle the terminal. These give a nice solid neat crimp. I have used them on nylon insulated, heat shrink insulated, and non-insulated terminals and all have turned out fantastic. Do yourself a favor though. Take a screenshot of what the different jaws are for and print it out and put it in the case as there isn't any reference guide that comes with it.

Very easy to use, I like the push button jaw change, the double crimp is harder to use on smaller fittings, other than that, I really like this crimping tool!

The jaw inserts don’t fit snugly into the main pliers body so they twist and make a somewhat uneven crimp and can cut heat shrink connectors. I adjusted them to where they work fine but if they just fit better these things would be amazing. Replace the sloppy quick disconnect jaw securement with slots and set screws and these things would be amazing value for the money.

La verdad nunca había usado unas pinzas de este tipo, las use para crimpar terminales del calibre 8 y terminales aisladas, quedan buenas conexiones, el cambio de mordazas es muy sencillo y no es necesario el uso de ninguna herramienta la verdad me gusto el producto por los resultados obtenidos ademas su presentacion en la maleta y cada termial en su espacio.
