The ABCs of Evaluation: Timeless Techniques for Program and Project Managers

It was required for a class
The way my professor had us use the book made it digestable. We used the chapters out of order which really helped some of the earlier chapters have more meaning. I rarely devour my grad school "textbooks" but I found this one to be easy to digest and make sense. I learned that I actually do have a background in evaluation based on things I've done with my career which may be why I was able to relate better to the book than my peers did. Only 4 stars because I liked it; it is hard for me to love (5 stars) a book that is required for classes and by that very nature, is dry reading.

A Great Read For Being A Textbook
The topic of evaluation can be a somewhat dry one but this book does a great job at giving useful information and being an easy read. The book also provides real world examples of concepts that the chapters cover in a manner that doesn't feel condescending. For a topic that I thought I was going to despise, this book did a great job in teaching me and keeping me interested in the information.

third ~ party program evaluation qualitative stakeholders nominal data (1,2)
The resources are the stakeholders standards to look over when trying to group together evaluator's program description (EPD)as the evaluation questions are generated. Noticing the hypothesis that is there when splitting the difference between thequantitative and qualitative there as the impacts of efficiency and effectiveness are noticed. The stakeholders resources standards become more clear when the program planning cycle is being monitored for both theformative and summative evaluation. Seeing the range and standard deviations that are there clears the statistics as themeaurements of central tendency and variability are noticable. For stakeholders standards on resources are viewed like a third ~ party program when the evaluation is there with the demandsfor the rfp request for proposal. Seeing the resource standards that are placed on by stakeholders tend to place a damper on thepublic sector evaluation while burdening slightly the private sector when co~existing evaluations are taken. The stakeholdersfocus of the report is placed on the resources available as the interim evaluation report is being conducted to allow to noticethe standards being placed as the two come together for the summative evaluation report. For you can see the dampering burden whenthe generalizability is placed on the population when samples are taken in random sample formNoticing how the third ~ party program evaluation is said to take place on a qualitative approach yet with the stakeholdersit is on a quantitative concept aspect as nominal data is noticed and gone through. Seeing the logic model of the evaluator'sprogram description (EPD) it becomes more aware when the focus of the report is seen and noted on. When the ratio data of the evaluationquestions is there the interim evaluation report is coupled with the summative evaluation report. Noticing as each report is gone overthe stakeholders standards on resources is on a quantitative hypothesis with the impact on range and standard deviation.

This is a wonderful "how to" guide to evaluating programs
This is a wonderful "how to" guide to evaluating programs. I will definately use this book after my graduate level course is over. I wish I had read this book five years ago when I began my current director position.
