Triple Feature: Stroker Ace / Hooper / Sharky's Machine

I'm a Burt Reynold's fan and I have to say this is the only reason to buy this collection. However, for racing movie fans, Stroker Ace is hard to beat. It's definitely better than Driven and far less effective than Days of Thunder. It offers a comical, honest view of the sport through the life of Stroker Ace, who has secured a ride from a novice car owner intent on leveraging every ounce of Stroker's fame to sell chicken. It's the only race film to cover sponsorship honestly (sorry Talladega NIghts).Few know, Burt Reynolds was a stunt man before making it as an actor. He has always had an affinity for stunt men and this is homage to these icons that entertain us at grave risk to themselves. Hooper is a stunt packed film that is entirely over-the-top in scope from Westerns to bar brawls to cars, you've never seen all of this in one flick. It's a solid movie that.Stroker Ace and Hooper are easy rewatches for me.Sharky's Machine I just can't get into. The other two films are worth the price of admission easily. I'd love to see Bluray versions of both of them.

I bought this collection just to get Hooper,.so my rating is just for Hooper. I already own Sharky's Machine and could care less about Stroker Ace but for the price I'm not complaining. It's been a while since I have watched Hooper but I always ranked it as one of Burt's best along with Sharky's Machine, The Longest Yard and Deliverance. As an older person myself I can relate to the slow loss of physical abilities that the passing of time eventually forces on us all. I'm glad I had the good fortune to be able to climb glaciers and raft class 5 whitewater when I was younger. There is what I would call a personal aura that each star has and I like Burt's persona. There is just something I like about him that shows through in every role that he has played from Quint Asper on Gunsmoke to Lewis Medlock in Deliverance. This movie is defiantly worth owning if you like Burt.

I am and have been a huge Burt Reynolds fan ever since his days as Quint Asper on Gunsmoke. This is a sampling of his career from its hottest days through the time that it had started to cool off (before Evening Shade). Sharky's Machine is the best of the bunch and Burt directed it. Hooper is a fun movie and Sally Field is hot, hot, gorgeous as Burt's significant other. Stroker Acer is a bit of mindless fun with a weak plot. This package is definitely worth the price of admission.

Bought this as a present. It arrived really fast and was in perfect condition

I haven't watched the films yet, but a word of warning to those who are concerned about such things: while (according to IMDB) Stroker Ace and Hooper were filmed in 1.85:1, both are here in full-screen. Sharky's Machine was shot in 1.33:1 and so appears here. I was looking forward to seeing all three; now I'm going to have to think of it as "Sharky's" and two imperfect "bonuses." This is what I get for not reading the other Amazon reviews!

Stroker Ace was one of my favorite movies when it first came out and it's still a great movie! I probably watch this and Hooper a dozen times a year. Dont care for Sharky's Machine but Stroker Ace & Hooper are still two of my favorite movies.The only negative about this is that I wished it came in a wide screen version or Blu-Ray but the movies themselves are awesome!

Bought this for my nine year old son as he loves playing stuntman on the ps2 & one of the stunts in the game is from the film hooper. The rocket car stunt. Well worth a watch

Sent quickly and in good condition. Thoroughly enjoyed all the films and would watch them all again. Would recommend this if you enjoy watching Burt Reynolds films.

Burt Reynolds does what he does, if you like that you will like this. Not his best but hey - 3 x Burt for this price - you gotta take it.
