Fyxation Third Ward

Great bike - beautiful, comfortable, love the 3-speed hub. And Fyxation's customer service is top-notch, they really seem like wonderful people. It's everything I was looking for in a bicycle, but assembly was... frustrating.The rear reflector was not installed at the factory - the rear fender and tire were installed though, which seems nice until you realize it makes it impossible to mount the rear reflector without taking off the wheel (which requires taking off the shifting mechanism). Seriously, why wasn't the rear reflector pre-installed on the fender??? Awfully silly. And good luck using the included tools - they're functional if you have nothing else available, but good luck appropriately torquing your axle bolts with the uncomfortably thin and short wrench that is provided. You will need a small adjustable wrench or 10mm crescent (not included) to take off the aforementioned shift mechanism and to adjust it properly... You will probably need to adjust said shift mechanism (it's easy - watch a few videos on YouTube, though one I saw was blatantly incorrect so be wary). There's more minor stuff I could gripe about with the assembly process, but I'll chalk that up to not having put together a bike in the last 20 years. It might be worth it to take it into a shop and have them deal with it. If you chose to assemble at home, having a friend lend a hand is a huge help. The only complaint I have about the actual bike is this - the kickstand is too damn long... looks like it's for a 29" (700c) wheel bike; it's so long the bike stands nearly vertically when deployed, and falls over with the slightest touch or breeze...

I can’t believe it! This bike came NEXT DAY! I love the color, the details and the whole look! I’m excited I’ll get a few rides in before the snow flies!

I am an active 61 year old and was looking to replace my old 10 speed with an upright bike for cruising around town. It is perfect. The three speeds make it easy to bike up small hills and everything is smooth and easy. Very comfortable. Would buy again.

I have been searching and searching for a classic dutch style bike with smaller frame and 26" wheels. They are so difficult to find. Everyone uses bigger wheels or the frame is so massive, it's impossible for a petite adult to comfortably ride. I was thrilled to find that Fyxation carried this very uncommon size and offered the bike in several colors.While the bike is great for the price I paid, I would love for them to crack down on third party sellers or stop the Amazon Warehouse from carrying the bike. The vendor’s customer service is top notch, but my experience with the Amazon was not.It was confusing because it said “Fyxation Bike Shop" and when I click on the bike in the black color, it defaulted to a third party seller every single time I selected that color. The bike was listed as “new” but wasn’t and was in rough shape with defective and missing parts and the fork poorly welded on the bike. Photos were provided to the vendor. I notice it was restocked and keeps doing this so if you want the black color, you have to go and manually select Fyxation instead of Amazon.I had to find a way to repackage the bike and haul it to UPS which is a big PITA. The box arrived in bad shape, so I had to find a way to patch it, get the bike back in and secure it.After that rough experience, I purchased the bike from the vendor’s website instead of Amazon and had a local bike shop assemble it.DO NOT buy this bike from Amazon or a third party seller.I'm really happy with the bike itself and added a basket from Retrospec and flowers (just for the photo) :) and plan to get either some sort of basket or panniers bags for the bag. I love it for quick trips to the store. It really works well and looks so cute!My one criticism is the second around I picked the "sage green" color expecting a soft sage green like the stock image featured. It's more of a vibrant grassy green. I included a photo so you can see it for yourself. I wish Fyxation would switch out the current images with more accurate stock images.
