I Like it and seems to work well
I tried it as soon as I received and for the Sony A6000 THIS is the perfect flash. I have a larger unit with all the whistles ad bells, but it looks just silly. It's larger than the camera. This has all features and is compact enough for carrying around.

Surprisingly good flash - but not as powerdul as the published Guide Number would indicate.
Actually a surprisingly good flash for the price. Well-made, and very low-profile so ti is a good, balanced for for the Sony NEX/a6000/a6300/a6500 - it works well with those camera without feeling like the flash is too large. Pros: - decent flash output (though I think the published guide number (GN) is not accurate - still, this would be good for fill flash bouncing in a small room, and is definitely a BIG step up over the on-camera flash on the Sony cameras); - solid construction; - small size, light-weight and low power consumption (2 AA batteries); - intuitive to operate; - has an LED video light (though probably not powerful enough to work as a true modelling light if shooting through a light modifier); - a lot of bang of bang for your buck, especially as an alternative to the weaker - yet still significantly more expensive - Sony-branded flashes like the HVL-F20. Cons - things that will hold you back if you plan to get into more advance flash techniques): - again not as powerful as published GN would indicate (but still fairly close to third party flashes of similar size, such as the Godox TT350s, which similar overstates its GN a bit - but bear in mind that the Godox is about 50% higher in price); - no HSS (high-speed sync) - limited to max flash shutter speed on camera (for my a6300, this is 1/160); - does not rotate far enough to do over-the-shoulder bouncing or bouncing to the left; you are basically stuck with bouncing off the ceiling or, at most, 90 degrees to the right (cannot bounce 90 degrees to the left - more like 45 degrees to the left, so you would be getting as much direct flash on your subject as you would be bouncing).

PERFECT FOR SONY A6XXX SERIES!
Listen. If you want a fantastic compact speedlite for your Sony A series, this is it. It's not going to compete with a full size flash, but of you want an upgrade from the built-in this is it. Love the LED video light function. The screen's back light is great. The included diffuser fits well. The bounce and swivel click nicely. The whole flash is built well. If you use rechargeable li-ion AA's (2 required, not included) you can charge the flash via the micro USB port *SUPER CONVENIENT!*. TTL and Manual functions work great. Buy this flash!

Great flash for beginners like me and humble professionals alike.
Sony A6000, fits hotshoe snugly, flash rotation is firm but smooth. Angle adjustment is good although I wished it would go behind me a few degrees. Supplied with off camera stand and diffuser, both work as expected. So far seems to sync up with my A6000 with no problems. Accurate info. Easily adjustable. Supplied ops manual kinda useless, but not hard to figure out. Compact size but still offers great power and recycling. If you're a beginner like me not wanting to blow big bucks before you know what you're doing, this is a great flash for you.

Poor longevity - flash stopped working after a few months.
This flash worked ok out of the box on my a6000. TTL didn't work really well, but the manual flash worked fine with good quality. However about 4 months later, the flash stopped working randomly. Now it only works if the flash is swiveled all the way to the left (which is as good as useless). If you look at the other reviews, you will find similar stories, so buy the accident protection if you need it for when this flash inevitably stops working.

hvl-20 replacement
My Sony HVL-20, being plastic, broke. It is quite fragile. Meike 320 flash unit is stronger (32 GN ISO vs 20), takes two AA batteries (vs HVL20's two AAA), recycles much faster, has a nice LCD on the back, can charge those AA batteries with micro USB, has a lot of buttons, plastic cap-hood, while maintaining about the same size, and being twice cheaper. There are downsides/nitpicking - I really like that HVL20 be turned on by just raising it from horizontal position to vertical - simplicity, and HVL20 is just tiny bit more compact. But otherwise Meike (Neweer too) is a solid choice.

Compact flash
Amazing little flash. Very compact compared to other full sized flashes. Power is very comparable to a full size flash, don't lose much when it comes to portraits and shots that are closer, you can tell a little difference in power when standing further away. Not clunky like other bigger flashes and is very sleek when on camera. TTL mode is a bonus and worked great on my Sony A6000. Worth the buy.

Just received mine, the battery compartment latch broke the first time i opened it. I taped the compartment shut a took a couple dozen pics. Seems to work well for indoor use. Returning it to amazon and buying another one. ******Updated****** Received the replacement the next day. Amazon provided free overnight to the locker i use. Flash seems to work good though i am no expert in camera flashed. I just needed a compact flash that provided more than the Sony A6000 built in flash. Longer lenses obscure part of the flash and leave a shadow over the pic. This lens works even with my Sony PZ 18-105 (my favorite lens) Went from 3 stars to 5 stars

The flash is very compact yet decently powerful which is the main reason that I got it. Overall, the functioning is satisfactory. Flash distance is around 5 meters, after which it becomes too faint to have any effect. Two issues: 1. It is extremely tight on my Sony A6600. It is difficult to fit it in and even more difficult to take it out. I am worried that I need to apply too much force that the mount would be damaged. 2. TTL doesn't seem to work well. Manual mode yields better result.

Llevo poco más de un mes con el y dejo de funcionar, parece que un bulbo se quemo o algo similar, si buscan comprar un flas recomiendo ahorrar e invertir en un que asegure su buen funcionamiento.

Easy to use, lightweight, and reliable adjustments. Good value for money.

This flash generally works well and is cheap, simple and compact, but it doesn't last very long. I've gone through 2 of these flashes in less than 2 years and my most recent one (purchased 3 months ago) is starting to bug out (TTL mode no longer works). Good introductory flash, but upgrade if you're more serious/would rather invest in something that will last.

At first it didn't work when I tried on my Sony A7R and Sony A6000 cameras. But then when I put more pressure to push the flashlight all the way into the hot shoe, it worked on both cameras! It's a little bit hard to push in and to take out, so you need more force. The light intensity can be adjusted. I like this flashlight for its low price, small size and adjustable light levels. Just make sure you push it into the hot shoe really hard for it to connect to your camera.
