Ultimate Dash Cam Hardwire Kit, USB-C Port, 24Hr Parking Monitoring

Works great... kit comes with all required hardware, easy to follow instructions and even a video link if needed. I installed it on a 23 tacoma. It was no hassle 30 minute job. It's been working for a month with no issues. Highly recommend if it's something you need.

I have an 04 Navigator. It's old. Recently had softball size rock go through our windshield from a dump truck. I also do automotive electrical diagnostics. The instructions are so well written. Very impressed. The included test light is awesome. All of the wiring and fuses. Seriously. Just follow the directions for making the connections. You can look up how were the fuse box is and how to remove trim panels so you can hide the wires.

I had single channel Rove Cameras (one front and one rear) for years in a previous vehicle and was always exceptionally happy with their video quality as well their ease to use. For that vehicle I was able to plug both cameras into easily accessible accessory plug outlets. When I bought a new 2025 Genesis GV 80, I found out I could easily plug in my front camera to a front accessory slot. However, power connectivity of the rear camera proved problematic for this high-tech vehicle. After discussing my issues with the Genesis Dealership given the high technology of their vehicle if I wanted a front and rear cameras I would have to upgrade to the Roves' (given my experience with it I wanted to stay with Rove) ROVE R2-4K Dual PRO Dash Cam Front and Rear 4K+2K Dash Camera for Cars (see my separate review of the camera here on Amazon) and additionally I would need to use the ROVE Ultimate Dash Cam Hardwire Kit. Once I realized I that I would need this hardwire kit and I would need to run the rear view camera connection through in the headliner (I wanted the set up to look professional in my new car) I knew this was a job for the dealership. Any Genesis Owner Can tell you these vehicles are full of technology and wiring it improperly could cause catastrophic consequences. As for cost of the kit and its "value for the money" this is the only way to connect front and rear view cameras to my car so I found it a very good value for the money and it gave me the professionally installed look I wanted. Bottom line, the dealership was very familiar with the ROVE brand (the service manager had a Rove Camera in his car) and how to connect it. As you can see in these limited images and of my separate review of the camera, I am very happy with both.

This is a comprehensive kit, very well worth the price if you want to set up your ROVE cameras so there are no visible wires connecting to your vehicles auxiliary power ports, or if you want to keep all of your power ports free for other things. The kit has a variety of pre-made add-a-fuse taps of different sizes so should work for many different vehicles. An issue we experienced that is probably common, was a result of user error or installer error, not a defective kit. The issue we had was the camera would not automatically power on when turning the car on (starting the car, turning the key, starting the ignition, etc.) The camera would also not power off when shutting the car off, or it was random. We searched for an answer or solution on how to fix it and found many people reporting the issue. But we didn't find a solution which is why we're sharing it here. The instruction manual for the hardwire kit is very well written and thorough with a lot of diagrams and photos. Be sure to read it carefully. There is an important step when installing the always-hot or full-time power fuse and the accessory-only or part-time power fuse in that you need to test the fuse port on the circuit to see which side is the inlet (power in or hot) and which is the power out (no voltage without a fuse to bridge the circuit). We had at least one of the fuse taps installed backwards. Once we used the included voltage tester to see which side is hot and we reinstalled the fuse taps correctly, the system works as intended. The camera now powers up with the vehicle and shuts off automatically when the car is turned off. And it has the option to use the parking mode as well. Hopefully this info helps with anyone having a problem where the camera won't automatically turn on or turn off with the vehicle. We installed this kit on a 2025 Lexus NX 450 plus hybrid and the included trim pry bar tool was great for carefully opening up the seams in the rubber gaskets and the felt upholstery panels. Routing the power wire from the front camera to the fuse panel under the steering area was easy and there was excess length that we zip tied. Routing the wire from the front camera to the rear camera was a bit more challenging. The tough part was getting the cable end with mini USB connector through the molded rubber tube that is between the rear hatch door and the roof. There was still extra cable length left over which we tucked above the upholstery panel. Overall, an excellent kit.

This is a very good item from a good company. The reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars I’ll address in a minute. The good: The kit has everything needed for installation and more! Included is a probe for testing circuits. I never had one included with any kit I used before and I’ve done a lot of auto electric circuit work over the years. The wires are plenty long with no chance of running short in any vehicle I can imagine. It comes with a variety of fuse taps for different types of fuses except the one I needed (See “The Bad”). Also included are small wire ties and cable clips for keeping the wire away from airbags if needed. Lastly it has a very thorough installation manual with reference to online videos detailing the install process. The Bad: The kit needs to be updated for late model vehicles. My 2023 GMC Sierra uses mostly Micro3 fuses which have 3 connectors, the kit includes Micro2 only. I had to order Micro3 taps directly from Rove for $10.00 as they are not available through Amazon. So Rove knows they may be needed but they didn’t add them in the kit- very curious?! Be sure to check what fuses your vehicle has before ordering. For this reason I felt 4 stars are in order. I find Rove to be a very customer service oriented company, this is becoming more rare in today’s environment.

This was very easy to install. I have a Rove dash cam on my work vehicle. My cigarette socket was intermittently working. A hardwire kit seemed the safest bet to ensure my dash cam is operating when I need it most. The little circuit tester was so helpful. I'm a contractor and have multimeters on hand but I imagine most people wouldn't. Highly recommend this. It's worth the peace of mind and install was very straightforward.

I can't speak on installing directly since my nephew did it for me. I will say the cord lengths were perfect. More than enough to run from the fuse panel to just above the rearview mirror. Would highly recommend. This kit was installed on a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

The instructions were very simple and detailed. Quite a bit of steps, but nothing too complicated.I personally struggled with getting this set up as I’m driving a Polestar 2 for and there was no local grounding nut or screw. The interior fuse box for this vehicle is located under the front passenger floor mat. Please be advised the camera will not operate unless the ground is strong and has a solid connection. I noticed it must maintain a solid connection for at least 10 seconds so don’t be alarmed if the camera doesn’t immediately turn on after connections are fitted. This isn’t necessarily a con, to me at least, but I noticed fitting your vehicle’s fuse into the piggyback fuse tap connector was quite snug, be sure this is the fuse you want to use as it can be quite challenging to remove. The fuse from your vehicle must be at least 10A for the camera to operate.

Great kit. Comes with everything you need including a voltmeter. The instructions are excellent. I highly recommend hardwiring if you get a dash cam. It's actually a fun* project. I did my car and my wife's SUV on consecutive days. Each vehicle took about 3 hours and that was everything: connecting the camera, hardwiring to the fuse box, cable management including popping off trim pieces, routing cables behind airbags where necessary, and configuring the camera and updating firmware, the whole nine yards. *It may be considered type 2 fun, where it's harrowing while you're doing it but once you successfully pull it off, it becomes fun retroactively.
