Citysafe CX Convertible Backpack

I will be traveling to London and Paris, and wanted to have something that I could use to carry around small purchases, power banks, charging cords, a water bottle, and maybe a rain jacket. Clearly a money belt or fanny-pack would not have enough room, and I avoid cross-body bags as they become uncomfortable to carry around all day if there's too much weight. This meant that a backpack would be the best solution for me. I also wanted to purchase a bag that would be pickpocket-proof, water-resistant, and be RFID-blocking. I'm aware that backpacks are in general the least safe type of bag as they are carried behind you, so it was vital to me to have a bag where there's more security than a simple clipped zipper can provide. After purchasing three bags, I identified this option as the most secure. Admittedly, the small front pouch has a simple loop of fabric preventing anyone from just pulling to unzip- you have to feed the zipper under the fabric to get it to release. This isn't my favorite, so I will use this small part for tissues or gum. However, the main compartment physically locks closed which was the biggest "win" for me. I don't see any way that someone could reach up under my hair, unlock the zipper, uncouple the zippers from each other, and open the compartment without me noticing. It's just not going to be worth it for a pickpocket, there are clearly easier marks to be had elsewhere. The other vital piece to my purchase is that it needed to be something I can bring into various museums, entertainment venues, and historical sites. I'm NOT the type of girl to carry a purse around, ever. However I do acknowledge that culturally, it's normal for a woman to carry a purse into areas where backpacks or other bags may not be permitted. Therefore having a bag that has the option of masquerading as a purse was important. Of the other bags that I purchased, this one was the easiest to convert and was the most sophisticated. Many purse/backpack combinations either left me with long shoulder straps hanging down awkwardly, or they compromised their security in favor of looking "cute". I understand that this bag isn't exactly the most pretty thing, but it can be dressed up with a keychain. The dimensions of this bag are small enough to be permitted at the locations I will be visiting, so even if I opt to keep it in backpack mode I will be okay. Finally, there are some aspects that could make this bag better. I wish that there was a bottle holder on the side, like the ones on hiking backpacks. I know drinks should be secured, but there will be entire days spent on walking tours so this feature would increase my water carrying capacity without taking up room inside the bag itself. I wish there was a way to keep the strap from sliding while in backpack mode. As another reviewer suggested, you can sew in a button to secure the strap. It's good to note that only some pockets are labeled as RFID-blocking. It's more organized to carry credit cards and passports together the RFID-blocking inner pocket so it's not a problem for me, but it's something to note for those who are prone to tossing those types of things in a bag, or those who have a separate wallet. I also wish there were more clear instructions regarding all the features of this bag. Because I view all videos and reviews about a product I want to purchase, I was aware of how to use this bag but I'm worried those who receive this as a gift will be in the dark. Even considering these issues, I found this was the most versatile, high-quality, and safe option for my travels. The bag is clearly made of high-quality material and I anticipate it will last for many years. If any issues arise in the next year, I will return to this review to document.

This convertible travel purse is great for site-seeing. I recently traveled to Paris for the first time, where I've been told pick-pocketing can be an issue, so I ordered this purse for peace of mind. I flew on a budget airline and couldn't take much luggage. I wore this purse as a crossbody bag to keep my cell-phone, passports, boarding passes, ID, and credit cards handy, then stuffed it into my backpack before boarding the plane so it wouldn't be counted as another bag. As soon as the plane landed, I took it back out and once again had all my essentials close for convenience and security. I wore this bag all over Paris, and found it very comfortable to wear all day (it doesn't weigh much and the strap easily adjusts), even when my daughter talked me into renting an electric scooter. The bag holds a surprising amount, and it is fairly quick to change the strap to use it as a backpack for that little bit of extra vertical space (it is NOT a large bag, though, even as a backpack, more of a small backpack purse size). As a crossbody bag, it easily holds my large passport wallet, big cell phone, glasses, extra mask, keys, gloves, and a small scarf. With it worn as a backpack, it holds all that plus my 10 inch Chromebook with the keyboard case, a small umbrella, and a few other odds and ends. It can TECHNICALLY zip (as a backpack) with my 13.5 inch Surface Laptop 3 inside, but just barely, and I wouldn't want to wear it like that for any length of time (but it's good to know I could in a pinch). I love that it looks stylish, like a regular purse, and doesn't scream "anti-theft tourist bag". It looked great with my jeans and casual parka, and worked equally well with my dressier clothes and wool coat. For size reference in my photos, I am 5 foot 7 with a 36C bust, weigh 165 pounds, and wear a US women's size 10; the bag can adjust much shorter across the body than I'm wearing it. The interior of the glossy black bag I ordered is lined in a pretty pink color, and has lots of pockets and compartments (one of which is an RFID blocking zipped pocket). The zippers and other hardware are a matte gold. The fabric does not attract lint, and is water resistant (we got caught in a light drizzle, and all the contents of my purse remained dry; can't speak to heavier rain). Overall, I am extremely happy with this travel bag, both in terms of looks and in functionality. I'm hoping for the chance to explore another country soon, and will definitely be bringing this bag along on my adventure.

MY FAVORITE PURCHASE FOR TRAVELING!!! Is it expensive? Yes. Is it versatile and strong? YES! I have taken it to numerous countries and across the states? YES! It was safe enough for me to carry it as a backpack in some of the more “sketchy” areas of Rome where pick pocketers are all over the place. There is plenty of space for items. I can carry my LifeStraw bottle, a massive external battery, my tablet, and so much more all while feeling pretty light weight for 8+ hours of walking and adventuring. It’s also able to fold down into a decent purse with similar space. The purse looks a little weird and not exactly presentable/fancy for nicer dinners if it is filled, but the pros out weight the cons of security and convience. The straps are a little wonky with threading it through to backpack it, but that is it. The safety zippers are tricky, but that is a good sign in my opinion for secutiry. I have somewhat mastered opening and closing the zippers while it is on my back, but It shows how sturdy and safe it was. Overall, it was a GREAT purchase and I love it so much!

I went through 5 weeks of travel this year, so this bag has been thoroughly tested before writing this review. What I like: The color, style, smooth materials, and convertible nature. I found that i most often used this as a day bag in backpack form, and only once did i use it as a purse i the evening, but it was rather nice to have that option. What I disliked: - It's very hard to put on as a backpack (the whole strap slides through the buckle when you grab one of them, making the other side impossible to put your arm through. they need a mechanism to lock the strap in place on the buckle). The gold finish on the hardware has already worn off in many spots -- specifically on the locking zipper handles and the rectangular piece that compresses the two sides of the strap together. - The front pocket's zipper is about an inch too small to easily accommodate entry for the extra large cellphones we use today. Once, i forgot i had keys in there, and was in a hurry, so i shoved my phone back into this tight front pocket, and scratched the front of my phone in so doing. - As a daypack, it would've been more useful if it had more space. It JUST managed to be enough space sometimes. Hoping to find something similar, but with straps that stay in place and a pocket that fits my phone better.

I was always searching for the perfect travel bag, and now I have found it!!! Although I have always enjoyed all of my Pac Safe items, this tops them all. It can morph into a backpack, evening purse, or crossbody!!! It holds a huge 10 liters at the max which is so convenient when needed. It has a very stylish and modern look even though it boasts all of the safety features that make it invaluable. Funny that I didn't really notice it on the web for years until I viewed a UTube video by an enthusiastic buyer of the product. She showed all of the bag features and I wondered why I never noticed it on Amazon--but it was always there.

This bag is amazing! I used it on a 2 week trip to Europe. I wanted something I could use as a crossbody but not have it on my chest all day long. This bag let me wear as a crossbody and backpack and feel safe at the same time. The pockets are numerous and the zippers weee in all the right spots and worked seamlessly. Switching between crossbody and backpack took me about a minute which was nice after buying water and carrying an umbrella. Highly recommend.

I wanted to love this, but it really needs some improvements. . I just got back from a 2 week trip using this as my handbag, and I'm pretty disappointed. I tried a number of convertible backpacks, and this seemed like the best option: nice size, looks cute, anti-theft, not heavy, can carry as a handback or even an evening bag. However, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. . 1. The zipper on the outside pocket sticks badly. I often could not get it to close all the way, meaning I couldn't put anything in there really. . 2. The "anti-theft" zippers on the main compartment don't stay locked. When the bag is in its upright position as a backpack or tall shoulder bag, the zipper pulls on the main compartment basically flop over and detach, making the anti-theft mechanism useless unless you want to have a lock on your bag all the time. . 3. As others state, putting this on in backpack form is a major pain since the strap slips through the center loop too easily. I had to have a friend help me, and it was very inconvenient to take it on and off. . 4. Not enough inside pockets, and the ones there are are not very functional. Putting anything in the inner pockets means you can't really put anything in the bottom of the purse. Also, putting anything in the inner pockets means you can barely get your hand in the outer pocket, so you can't access your needed items. The fact that the inner pockets are only in the bottom half of the bag makes it hard to dig anything out on the fly. Really impractical design. Needs more compartments that don't take away from each other, a wider outer pocket that sticks out more from the side of the bag, and compartments in the upper portion of the main bag so you can get to stuff in a hurry without unpacking everything. I was constantly losing my wallet and keys in this bag. It's just generally a really inefficient use of space. . 5. No water bottle holders. I didn't think this would bother me so much, but it did. Because of the design of the main compartment (see above), putting a water bottle in there takes away from pocket space, and removing the backpack to get your water is a huge pain in the butt. This thing really needs at least one water bottle pocket on the side! . 6. Magnet isn't strong enough to use bag in the "small bag" form. It constantly comes undone, negating the feature. . I feel like this bag is getting close, but it really needs better security zippers, a better-designed interior, a way to hold the strap in place in backpack mode, and at least one exterior bottle holder, and other changes. I was also disappointed in the quality of the zippers for the price. I guess I'm back to searching for a travel bag!

Ich bin total begeistert von der Funktion, den Rucksack als Umhängetasche umzuwandeln. Am Tag lässig mit Rucksack unterwegs und abends mit schicker Umhängetasche. In der Farbe schwarz wirkt der Rucksack zeitlos und dank der goldenen Reißverschlüsse auch schick.
