This thing is tough as hek, lasted me 5 years of nearly all day screen usage from a younger self and when I took it out to upgrade to HDMI it STILL worked and is currently kept as a backup incase of a bad day

I wondered at first about the power cord for this unit. My initial impression was that it enabled a higher resolution image, but I hoped it would solve a longstanding issue that my Mac experienced with some projectors - that the projected image did not hold, but flashed on and off when using the HDMI connection. (It never was a problem with the monitor to VGA connection, but then the projected image is narrowed down to a smaller screen size.) The HDMI problem was not the case on all projectors, but I teach at a university and the projectors are built into the rooms, so I have no information on what type of projector each room has. So, I prefer using the larger, clearer HDMI projection when I can - but that was not always possible.I have found that this connector, when used with the power cable to a USB port on my laptop, enables a stable, full width HDMI projection through the VGA connection. I am grateful to have found this device, as it makes all the difference - and may be important to others who have found a similar difficulty.

Using this to hookup a few Raspberry Pi units to older 4:3 monitors that only have vga. Works fantastic right out of the box and no issue with audio using the jack on the adapter.My only gripe is that the hdmi cable is attached to the unit and isnt removable, because i'd like to use it with some normal size hdmi -> mini/micro hdmi sometimes but that isn't a dealbreaker as it does what I bought it to do. For the price they're great and work really well.

These are great adapters and are the only ones I've found that allow me to use my FlirOne camera on my Samsung S9+. I only wish they came with some kind of chain or lanyard to connect them to something so that they don't get lost. I've already lost one only a week or so after I got it. I have some adapters that don't work with my phone that come with a chain and snap clip that allows me to attach it to another cable or the camera lanyard.

I was a little bit skeptical at first because I wasn't 100% sure if it world work or not. However, I hooked it up to my laptop and LCD projector and had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I told my colleagues about this product and I think a couple of them actually ordered one. I was glad to see that a port was included for audio because I was concerned about how that would work. Very nice product and the setup is pretty easy.

I switched from Samsung Galaxy S5's (microUSB charging point) to a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (USB C).. USB C is better, but I have a lot of microUSB cables and my Bluetooth accessories are microUSB.Just pop an adapter on and you are good to go. I did NOT notice a charging speed difference between the true USB-C cable and my modified cable. It is a very good adapter. I have had no problems.

Like others I used this to use an older seek thermal camera with a newer phone (one plus 8). Works perfect. Phone identified the camera immediately and worked perfectly. The only issue is my own stupidity so that when first inserted the camera was facing the wrong way but then I remembered that USB c is reversible.

After an exhaustive search, we found this to be extremely well engineered and very durable, great product and highly recommend, this particular three purchased were sent up to the Space Engineers on the (ISS) International Space Station, and are currently being used, be proud of your product, and continued success...!

I bought this to use with my Raspberry Pi 3B to use on an old VGA monitor and it works like a charm! One really nice addition is that it comes with an audio patch cable and a microUSB to full-size USB cable (about 1 foot long, which was perfect for my use). Here's a great tip that worked out great for me: This device requires a 5V DC input, so just take the short included cable and plug one end into the device and the other end into one of the USB ports on the Raspberry Pi! (Make sure your power supply is the recommended 5.1V and 2.5 amp power supply)

I used this adapter to switch a DisplayPort on a graphics card to an old VGA monitor. Worked without any issue. Keep in mind this is a passive device meaning it is unpowered. Some devices can have a problem seeing the device with a passive converter.Overall a positive experience, would buy again if need it again.

Awesome product worked with everything I put at it

I had a passive converter originally and this did not work at all. The screen would flash continually off/on every 1-2 seconds. Thought an active converter was the answer and it all so nearly is. Now you can interact with the display using this converter, but at random times (generally in 1-3 minutes) the screen will still cut out and then come back on. Such a shame as so near yet so far.Had to abandon using VGA altogether and buy a separate HDMI splitter to "share" one HDMI rather than using 1 x HDMI and 1 x VGA. Real shame.
