Seagate Expansion Desktop 20TB, External Hard Drive, USB 3.0, Data Rescue Services (STKP20000400)

A solid HDD drive with a massive storage space. I've been buying Seagate HDD's for a long time and they have never failed me. I trust the brand and this purchase was no different. Easy to use, just plug and play and the drive is pre-formatted in NTFS. The write speeds are solid at 100-150 MB / Second and the read speeds are quite good too. Have a number of 4K resolution videos and ton's of photos which I have stored on the drive and experienced no lag in reading them from the drive.

Seagate is perfect and speed is tops. Out of all portable drives. Seagate is the best. All mine are Seagate as they work instantly. For price wise is. Worth it if you use them a lot and quality is great. Very compact so does not take a lot of room.

It arrived fast , out of the box, plugged and started without any problems but I ordered 6tb device . But it is actually 5.45 tb . I understand that may be the balance taken up for it's software but if I knew that I would have bought 2 x 4tb my passport ,which they are much smaller and no need for power supply, much portable and less noisy.Disappointed with the storage capacity, early days just used it for one day so far.I didn't want to send it back because had already started using it .It would have been nice to have a travel case of some sort.I must say ,so far so good .I bought Seagate because already have a 4tb, which I have had for 7 years and it is now full.

No issues with this external HDD - I wanted to make sure all my files were transferred over properlt from my old computer to my new onez and having 2TB was more than enough for me to backup what was necessary. Files transferred and copied quickly without much issue, and stores them well. Definitely worth the money and will hopefully last me years from now!

This is a good little drive - works out of the box with Windows 10 & 11 and Linux (Fedora and Mint) with no setting up required. The speed seems reasonable and as an external storage drive used for backups or easy transfer between machines it a great buy.

Excellent! Bought this as my laptop doesn’t have much storage, and I wanted to download more games/photos etc. This portable drive solves that issue, and saved me spending hundreds of pounds buying a new laptop!Easy to use, doesn’t get too hot, instantly connects and feels good quality. Good value for money.

I do like Seagate products as they work as described and the build quality and feel is second to none (at least in this price range).This drive is perfectly compact and easy to slip into a pocket, bag or even an envelope if needs be. The cable length is adequate, although I'd prefer a couple of extra inches - I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.Another thing I like about the size, is the uniformity with other drives - for example, the width and length are exactly the same for a 3T and 4T drive - only the depth is different, which for me saves a lot of time and effort.I've had no issues using it, it has worked perfectly well since the first plug-in until now.Also, it seems fairly rugged and strong; it survived an accidental drop down a flight of stairs without even a scratch, unlike the phone that fell out of the same pocket at the same time!!

I ordered this item (the 6GB version) on the 3rd of July 2025 in order to move a large number of files I did not have room for on my laptop, and which were causing it to slow down, but that I wanted to keep. Today is the 3rd of September, just two months later, and I have switched on my laptop to find it not only frozen, but when I did finally get into it, various changes I did not make myself to my laptop, and this hard drive beeping and disappeared from my laptop, along with all of the files stored on it.So this hard drive is about as much use as a chocolate donkey, as far as keeping your files safe, and storing them externally. It also apparently makes changes to your devices, without your consent, and without your knowledge. I had various items and files stored on my desktop, including a screensaver, which have also completely disappeared, which were in no way connected to this hard drive, and were stored on my laptop itself.There is zero reason for any of this to happen. The hard drive has just been sitting on my desk the entire time, and there were zero error messages and nothing has changed. It just suddenly started beeping today, and on switching on my laptop I found it frozen and the desktop altered and files missing. There are no help screens, error messages and no way to access it to actually find out what has occurred either, so super helpful.I have already got my money back, but that's not really the point is it, the point is that I have lost all of my files, as have others, and that this product cannot be trusted for its one job. Literally its one job, and not even over the ridiculously short period of two months, and it's not as though this product is cheap either. If you cannot trust it, then it defeats the object of having it.If you're looking for a completely useless piece of black plastic, that wastes your time, energy and money, loses your files, makes changes to your laptop/computer without your knowledge or permission and costs you more than it is worth, I highly recommend this piece of rubbish.
