Top of the line Amber Gloss UV resistant Varnish
Have used this product for years on a number of home interior & exterior projects. Very durable finish when applied properly. Great UV protection compared to many other varnishes. Two coats recommended with light sanding (or 0000 steel wool) between coats to ensure proper adhesion between coats. Gives you that soft golden hue when dried on oak.

Outstanding Varnish with High Gloss Finish
Been varnishing wood for over 50 years and finally found a varnish that applies easily and finishes to a hard high gloss. Sand lightly with 400 grit between coats and build four to five coats with foam brushes to get a beautiful amber finish. This will be my go to varnish from now on.

Follow the instructions.
This spar varnish is what I needed for a project and I will try to update this review after a long-term use. This is used as an undercoat/precoat to Helmsman polyurethane for hiking sticks I am making for some friends and I like the ease of applying the spar varnish and especially the color it gives to the wood.

beware of the quantity, Pint or Quart
I have used this product for 20+ plus years. It works great, doesn't yellow, it will check over time if left in the sun, about 4-5 years. I have it on a 1950 Chris did the original 15 coats in a body shop, laid out easily, with very little worry about runs. It sands well if needed. Be careful when ordering it because one supplier slipped in a pint for like $4. less than a quart. My mistake for not reading more carefully.

Good stuff!@
Looks great. Covers well. Easy to spread in thin coats. A bit pricey!
