Good and easy to use with truecable unshielded cat 6 riser cable. My original plan was to use these shielded rj45 plugs with truecable shielded outdoor rated cat 6 but the insulation on the individual strands were too thick to pass through. I was able to do only 2 conections for a single run after an hour of frustration. So I thought maybe thinner wires would fit. I tried unshielded cat 6 riser and it was a perfect fit just a tiny bit sung. Its the easiest part of running cables. I end up using unshielded riser instead of shielded for my entire project. If I had known prior then I could have used unshielded plugs instead.As for the shielding functionality it needs the drain wire to contact the metal edge inside of the connector to work. I just bent it back onto the outer jacket before inserting the strands. The metal jacket is removable.

It is what I paid for, a lttle over priced but easy to use.

We use these along with their crimping tool (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YC9TQKH) on UISP Cable Pro Cat5e outdoor shielded cabling. We specifically went with this, as the diameter of the wiring insulation specifications on our Cat5e is 1.04 +/- 0.03 mm (between 1.01 and 1.07 mm). This product stated a maximum of 1.1 mm and did not list a minimum, where others on Amazon had minimums larger than our cable specifications.This product works as intended, and the cables we've made have passed testing with our Fluke meter. The only recommendation I'd make to the manufacturer for improving the product is to include wire guides within the RJ45 molding. Some other RJ45 ends we've used included molded wire guides within the ends making it easier to correctly "thread" the wiring through the connector, and also those guides significantly reduced the likelihood of a wire bending or not threading correctly.I've attached a photo with this product on the left, and a competitor's product with the wire guides on the right. Again, the guides, at least in my experience, reduce the problem with one of the wires bending while threading them.

Originally I thought they were not working but soon realized it was the clipper. I am getting older and it’s harder to see the cables so using pass through although more expensive helps a lot! Will buy again as I don’t always need to make them. My only recommendation is they should have the guide from the beginning all the way till the end so cables would just go straight.

These connectors are crap and do not crimp down well enough to get connection on cat5. Out of 20 terminations I made only 2 were good. I install commercial cctv for a living and have done thousands of RJ45 terminations. I am usually supplied with cheap connectors with my parts on a job. Even the worst cheap connectors I had been issued in the past were fantastic in comparison to how poor these are. Maybe they would work better on cat6 but I certainly won't be finding out. These are going in the trash

Really easy to use i reccomend buying a tool that cuts the end of the cable on the connectors.
